Okay...this is a daycare rant. I am soooo annoyed with the nursery that I go to.

1. Noah does a poo at like 5.15, he is like clockwork, so we come to pick him up at around 5.30...so why when I come to pick my son up does he have a HUGE STINKY poo in his nappy??? If they know he always has a dirty bum when we come to pick him up, why can't the girls make sure that they check his bum at around that time??? If my husband or I have to change him before going home, it adds another like 10 minutes onto our evening and we don't get home until late...

2. I brought in a pack of Pampers size 5 last week along with 2 packs of wipes...so why does Noah come home in Huggies nappies like every other day? Where have his own nappies gone? And why are they putting size 4+'s on him?? I don't really care, I am happy that he comes home at all, i don't care what nappy he is wearing...but how come no one can find the pack of diapers that I brought in last week?? HUH??

3. You know we come to pick the kid up every night...why does he has a dirty face? Why can't you just wipe his face at 5.00???

Ugh. There are really little things and in the big picture they pale in comparison to the lovely care that the girls give to my boy all day long, and the wonderful food that they cook for him etc. But tonight, I am annoyed with the whole thing.

Thanks for listening!!!

Aw, you have every right to be upset! What if he had allergies or got a bad rash from the other diapers?
Have you spoken with the supervisor there about these issues? It seems like these are all little things that can easily be corrected! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would be annoyed as well. How hard is it to change a poop nappy? Not very. I would ask them where the nappies that you bought are. Sorry your having a bad dayChat Icon Chat Icon

We had a similar problem with Joseph when he was a baby. Every time he would be in a soaking wet diaper.

I said something to the director, fixed everything.

I have brought the poopy diaper issue up before, but I think its time that I brought it up to her again.

Do I tell the owner that I am going to remove him if the situation doesn't change????? I don't want to take him out of the nursery, I am really happy with it in general!

I would talk to the owner, they seem to be slacking in his room a bit, and thats not fair to you!

I agree. Your issues are not life & death, but still important things nonetheless.

I would bring it up again.
The girls are slacking in his class.
He should not be sent home like that.

I would say just that - That you are generally happy with the care given, but you expect to pick him up with a clean face and diaper.

This is what worries me about day care in a couple of weeks. I would be plenty annoyed that the diapers I purchased for my child were not changed(for one) and go to some other child(second).

Its the little stuff that gets me nuts anyway though. I would definately say something.

I would definitely bring it up that is unacceptable...

do not say you will remove him unless you are prepared to do so. I have been furious with daycare before, but I also know we have a good thing and it's like a relationship...no empty threats.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

That cute little boy has to walk around with poo....not acceptable. Bring it up again but like Kelly said don't say you will pull him out unless you will

Agreed! Perhaps they can make it part of their routine. Wash the kids faces at 5:00. They can't get THAT dirty between that time and when the parent's come. Also...I would definately say that you should NOT have to change his diapie at the center, that is not what you are paying for.

We had the same issue w/the 5:30 poop. I talked to the Dir and it was fixed. He also came home w/someone else's diaper but it only happened once that I noticed. I would mention it to your Dir and hopefully that will help.
