Riverhead Aquarium
Thinking of taking DD to the aquarioum tomorrow. We've never been. Any BTDT advice?
Also, is there anywhere to get discounted tickets? DH and I are both teachers- is there a teacher discount?
TIA!

not sure abt discount tix but kids under 3 are free. I live near the aquarium and go often. Its a nice time..the outside sea lion show is fun if its a nice day. There is an outside too, otters, penquins, fish, crabs, reptile & monkey exihibit and turtles. BEWARE the exit is a GIFT shop..you may want to bring blind fold..

If you have the Newsday Funbook- I remember seeing a coupon on the front of it for the Aquarium

YES, there's a "coupon cove" on their site. You can buy tix right online, too. The baby doesn't need one - just you and DH.

Re: Riverhead Aquarium
Biggest piece of advice is to bring your lunch & arrive at the time it opens!!!!
We do both almost every time we go & barely have spend extra $$$ while there except maybe a small item from the gift shop & the crowds are smaller at opening time!!!
We have the membership & go like once a month!!!

I agree! Definitely go early and bring your own lunch. If your DC is walking, forget the stroller.... it's small enough where you can get away w/o it.
DH and I bought a membership because it paid for itself in 1 1/2 trips! It's only $70 for the couple (kids under 3 are free) and if you paid separately each time you go, even with a coupon, it's like $21 per adult.
