Robitussin vs. Mucinex?
How does one decide which to use? What's the difference?

Re: Robitussin vs. Mucinex?
I decided to buy Mucinex because I read that robitussin has other things in it, but Mucinex only has Guaifenesin in it. The Guaifenesin is what we want

That is what I thought too. So i just took Mucinex. I only tried it one month and it did not help me at all.

The plain Robitussin is exactly the same as the Mucinex. I have taken both and gotten pregnant on both. I didn't see any "obvious" results but what it really does is thin your mucus membranes on the inside to make a more sperm-friendly environment by your cervix. Either one is fine as long as you use just plain Robitussin.

Thanks! I was hoping someone would say that since Robitussin is much cheaper

Make sure you buy the one that says "expectorant." The other one will dry your body out

Re: Robitussin vs. Mucinex?
i just re-read TCOYF today: PLAIN robitussin is guifenesin only, which is the same as mucinex. the difference is mucinex is an extended release pill, and robitussin has to be taken 3 or 4 times a day.

Re: Robitussin vs. Mucinex?
I've used both (during different months of course) and I didn't notice much of a difference. I'm going to skip it altoghether this month bc I usually get EWCM without the meds. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Re: Robitussin vs. Mucinex?
I'll use Mucinex because we already have some in the house.
How far in advance do we need to start using either???
ETA: Quick question... what kind of Mucinex should we be taking? There are a few different kinds out there....

If you are going to take anything make sure it ONLY has Guafinesin in it - or is labeled "expectorant." If it says "suppressant" that will dry your CM up.
I took it a few days before O and continued to take it until after I was sure that I had O'd.
