Rock n Play Sleeper Question...
Based on other new Mommy raves I am going to try this for baby to sleep in for the first few months in our room instead of a bassinet. For Moms using this I was just wondering if you can swaddle and put them in there or no because they go in the little holder so the legs have to be free?

Re: Rock n Play Sleeper Question...
I never strapped the baby into it. I never felt like there was a need for it. By the time they are old enough to move around enough to get strapped in you probably wont be swaddling or using the sleeper anymore.
But it you did want to swaddle and strap them in you could probably still make the straps big enough that you can still strap the baby in.

i registered for both, i figure, the rock n play is good to stay down stairs and travel with, and the bassinet will stay in our bedroom.

Re: Rock n Play Sleeper Question...
Here is Megan at 3 days old when we got home from the hospital:
We would strap her in over the swaddle. Now she's much bigger and fits fine, but that's how we did it at the very beginning.
Just be aware: I read a lot of amazon reviews saying babies sometimes develop a flat spot in the rock n play, so I recently at a month old put a pillow under the fabric between the plastic and it so she's not against the hard plastic anymore. I used the top piece from the snuzzler pillow that usually goes under baby's head. Still love the napper. She always sleeps in it. The angle is perfect!

Re: Rock n Play Sleeper Question...
We used the Swaddle Me with DD in the RNP Sleeper and never strapped her in. It's fairly deep - even if she was able to roll as a newborn there is just no way she was going anywhere. She was in our room next to our bed for a while like that.

ITA with the above.
With DS I never strapped him in. He was sleeping steadily in it until 4 months old...but by then I had to srap him in because he was a roller...we just didn't have his crib set-up and hadn't moved to our new house. Believe it or not at 9 months we still use it sometimes with DS though now we're getting close to the weight limit...he just loves it still...though he sleeps in his crib now.
This is the first day we brought him home:

you really dont need both. The rock n play is so light that we just carried it up to our room at night with the baby in it.

Is this a bouncer?
Oh they didn't have this when you had your first 2 kids...it's a fairly newer item in the last year or so. It's THE best...you MUST get it for this baby! Not a bouncer. Honestly a lot of people are not into it b/c it has no bells and whistles - doesn't vibrate or make sounds or anything. You have to rock it by hand but trust me...it was my 1 can't live without baby item. This thing went everywhere with us b/c it folds up so nicely - to friends houses for dinner...to my parents for sleepovers. Literally everywhere we went, it went. Get it - you will love it. DD slept in it day and night until she was 4 mos old. Could not live without it!

Re: Rock n Play Sleeper Question...
I used the miracle blanket and NEVER strapped her in...it's deep enough in the seat that I knew she wasn't going anywhere...especially with how tight I swaddled her. She was right next to me at all times in the night so I was never worried. But you can strap them in as some have posted pics... Best item ever...I can't rave about this enough. And they are coming out with cuter prints now!

Re: Rock n Play Sleeper Question...
Wow! I'm actually loving this. We have a family bassinet that everyone in my family (starting with my dad) has slept in. But, both of my boys were real stinkers in the beginning with sleep, and I bet this would work wonders with a baby.
If all goes well, I'm all over this thing. Thanks for posting!

Re: Rock n Play Sleeper Question...
bash me BUT ... i never strapped DS in anything (with the exception of the carseat ) until about 3-4 months...
he just never moved we swaddled and used the rock and play sleeper for naps and would bring it to family/friend homes at night instead of a pack and play until 6-7 months.
LOVED that thing. i miss it

Re: Rock n Play Sleeper Question...
So glad this question was posted!!!
DD sleeps in this thing all day long! DH yesterday told me that he doesn't think it's a good idea because she's not "laying flat" but she honestly HATES sleeping in her bassinet and I'm so afraid to try and switch her now because I just KNOW she will be fussy in her bassinet.
So good to hear that other moms let their DC sleep in their throughout the night!!!

I miss it too! I also never strapped her until she was starting to move...no need b/c I had her swaddled as tight as a burrito!

The nice thing about it is it's got an incline...I would have been nervous putting DD down right after a bottle in the middle of the night so flat like in a bassinet....I never worried about her spitting up and possibly choking on it b/c of this great little inclined seat. And during the day even when she was awake she loved to just sit and hang out in there. It's really the best...also takes up no room in your room if you have the baby sleep in your room for a bit at first. It's also tall so you can just lean down from your bed and rock it a little in the night - lean over to stick a binky in...it's great! I should do commercials for it! Love it!
