I started this thread with the *intention* of it being one of the FEW positive Palin threads posted on this site since last Friday.
WE get that more than half of all LIF posters are not voting for her. That 65% is VERY vocal. I mean look at this thread...how many people stated "I hardly post" or " I usually don't post my views on politics" WHY??? Because they get attacked on here. Plain and simple. Yes, it Should not happen, and Yes, we can all SAY it is wrong, and YES this is a public forum, yadda, yadda, yadaa... but the sarcastic comments and HAVE to go.
JUST STOP and THINK about what YOU stand for and WHY you feel the need to attack someone who disagrees with you? That is the ONE thing I don't get about the liberal media and liberal in general...they SAY everyone is entitled to their beliefs, YET IF YOU disagree with them on social issues or anything else GOD help you. They will go after you, your family (even if they are minors), heck, they will even make up stuff like your passport never being stamped.
BTW to a PP: Her use of the word "gal" and "guy" may be offensive to some, BUT to the people who are voting in Ohio, West Virgina, Minnesota, Florida, etc. maybe it resonated.  Who knows for sure? But to say that is sounds uneducated... all I can say is keep talking that way and Obama will only get NY, NJ, Illinois and California on election day. Maybe Washington, Oregon and Florida too.
Keep beating up the "small town girl" not on the issues but about her daughter, her passport, her use of the word "gal" and "guy". It is fun to watch, pretty entertaining. Those of you who don't believe me do some online research. Middle American HATES to be talked down to and they DESPISE the liberal media. The more they beat up on Palin the more the base is drawn to her. I USED to be a Left wing Liberal elitist. I volunteered for the party to get Clinton elected in 1992. I know some of what happens with in the Democratic party to get someone elected that will advance a liberal agenda.
So please, keep talking down to middle America, attacking Palin's daughter (who is a minor), PLEASE keep saying she should be at home with her kids (So we get female independent voters to vote for McCain).
Keep believing that you can say ANYTHING, dig up anything, that you have the election "locked up". Keep doing the same old stuff, PLEASE.

Sorry but this "liberal media" crap is really getting annoying. She's not complaining about the "conservative media" is she? I would say a very good portion, if not the majority of the media in the US is conservative.
I have issues with Palin not because the media is dredging up stuff about her, not because she's a small town girl, not even because she only got a passport last year - but because I don't agree with her platform. I disagree on major issues and that's that. I think lots of people on this board have shown that they are committed to voting according to the candidates stance on important issues, so perhaps you're preaching to the choir here.

As many people here did last week in regards to Obama and the DNC.
But those threads were also 'brought down' by others on the board that had to inject their negative comments.
Please note that I'm not saying you in particular, I'm just saying in general.
But I dont think anyone has a right to be upset because their positive thread was turned into a debate/negative thread. It's gone both ways.

The only media outlet in America that is Somewhat conservative is Fox news and talk radio WABC (here in NY). Some talk radio hosts are syndicated like Sean Hannity.
Liberal TV/radio in the US :
CNN
MSNBC
CSPAN
Air America
Then you have the public news channels like channels NBC, ABC, CBS, WNET, etc.
so its 1 TV cable news channel and 1 talk radio channel (2) compared to (8) EIGHT. How do conservatives have more media outlets? I am not getting it.
That does not count the internet either.

I am not upset.
I just think it crazy to have a belief system that is "everyone is entitled to their opinion...AS long as they agree with me". That is how I FEEL on this site sometimes in regards to politics or social issues.

OMG, you will see venom being spurted at the person who posted, and anyone who agreed with them. That person would get the NASTIEST FM's and posts. If you do not believe me, try it. It has happened to me on here, so I speak from experience.

I am just getting a bit put off by the liberal use of the word "liberal".
conservative and liberal used to be at opposite ends of a broad spectrum.
i refer to McCain as a republican, but Palin as a conservative republican...b/c to me there is a difference.
I am more to the left for sure, but do not consider myself in any way to be "liberal" except of course...in the bedroom

Everyone does have a speechwriter, which is why we really shouldn't say "I liked what she had to say!"
You can say I liked how she looked, how she spoke, how she pointed constantly, but judge her on her past performance instead of what she was reading.
And that goes for any politician, not just her.

I think it's great too.
be INFORMED! I do hope though, that people watch the debates.
I don't put much in these speeches anyhow...they are, as my husband put it "preaching to the converted" at these conventions.
the debates are when they are challenged and put on the spot. I feel you get more substance from them.
ETA: it DID interrupt an AWESOME US Open Match bet the Williams sisters...

she did a FANTASTIC job! her delivery, her composure, her speaking skills - WOW! this was the 1st speech that she gave in front of such a HUGE audience (37 million I believe) and she wasn't nervous at all. she did a better job than anyone else who spoke at the RNC so far.
McCain has his work cut out for him
