nope, BF'ing isn't safe either, according to a new european medical report Chat Icon Apparently, a good portion of the pesticides/fertilizers used to grow our veggies accumulate in our bodies, and are rather concentrated in milk....

So it's actually a good thing that I hate veggies!!

Ok, I'm gonna say it. Whether you BF, FF, RTF, Powder, BPA, etc. There is always going to be risks out there. I'm a FF mom and I'm not too worried. Why make yourself nuts with all this stuff.

Sorry if I should harsh, but JMO. The more you investigate, the more nuts you'll make yourself. Yes, you'll be "educating" yourself, but for what purpose? To make you more cautious of daily things? To worry about everything? There are too many "what-if's" in life. Just go with the flow. Again, JMO.

You probably are right, I wish I felt this way.

I understand what you mean but I also feel that if we know about a particular danger that we should try to steer clear of it. So for example with BPA, I know this is a danger so I make sure all sippies are BPA free and that for bottles I use glass. I know I am not protecting my DD from everything but at least I am protecting her from something. Alot of these chemicals are not necessary harmful in small doses but the problem is the cumulative effect. I feel if I can remove at least some of the things I know are problems then hopefully she will be better off in the long run. Its insane how all these things can make us crazy...before I had kids I could have cared less about BPA in my drinks, etc.

Then there's the RTF formula issue.... we're all in a fuss about BPA bottles... but most RTF is packaged in containers containing BPA... I swear chemistry is often not a good thing.....

Aren't the RTF is recycleable plastic? Which would mean it does not have BPA (# 7 on the container)?

BPA in the caps..... also, formula CANS also contain BPA in the seams... I swear there is no way to win... especially when the FDA is so regressive that they directly refute overwhelming medical evidence that BPA is not OK. I can guarantee that the FDA is somewhat corrupt.... they're always the absolute LAST agency in the industrialized world to admit a chemical is harmful.
