Romantic Getaway Ideas
My hubby and I are trying to plan a getaway to celebrate our first anniversary. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas. Our anniversary was yesterday but we are looking to escape either in Dec or Jan.
I was thinking of a cottage type place with a fireplace but I am open to any options.
Thank you ladies I know I can count on you!!

Cottage up in Manchester, Vermont. You can go skiing or shopping during the day and have cozy, romantic dinners at night!

Re: Romantic Getaway Ideas
DH and I went to Arizona for 4 days to the Biltmore Resort and Spa. It was great, we went to Sedona on a day trip, took a Jeep tour and I wanted to take a hot air baloon ride over the Red Rocks, but DH is a chicken and wouldn't go!!!
We got massages and went to the spa everyday. It was great weather and we really had a nice time. The pool there was awesome, I could've spent the whole trip there!
It ended up costing us a fortune because I am a hotel snob and the Biltmore was $$$$$$$. You could definitely stay in a lesser expensive but still nice hotel if you wanted to.
I definitely recommend it....

The Woolverton Inn
Woolverton Inn website
Rated as the most romantic B&B in the U.S. - I stayed there on a weekend with DH and it was incredible. Lots of nice restaurants and shops in the surrounding areas (New Hope, Lambertville, etc.)

Re: Romantic Getaway Ideas
We are looking to drive some where because we do not have much time to take off of work. We were thinking about going Friday after work and coming home on Monday...but I would love to go away...

Re: Romantic Getaway Ideas
Cove Haven is a nice couples resort. It is also near Shawnee & Tanglewood if you ski.

Re: Romantic Getaway Ideas
Chimney Hill B&B
This is on the border of NJ/PA. There are two towns - one is an antique type of place (Lambertville) and the other is more trendy (New Hope).
I've stayed there twice - once for work, once with DH. Never in the winter though. But we would go back if given the chance.

Re: Romantic Getaway Ideas
i love the villa at Saugerties. Its run by 2 artists in their 20's-30's and its a B&B geared to people their age. Very modern and cool. I stayed in the Japanese room and loved it. Its about 10 minutes from Woodstock.

Re: Romantic Getaway Ideas
We went to Bahamas. Left Friday am and came home Sunday night!
The RIU has specials right now (all-inclusive) right on the beach & steps from the Atlantis.
Direct Flights from Jet Blue & Delta. Jet Blue was $67pp each way (make sure u put in 2 travelers they have different pricing)
We booked threw Liberty Travel & it was under $1000 (Including air, hotel, transfers, insurance, all food & drinks!)
