Romantic Local Hotel with Spa?
Any recommendations for a hotel and spa in the NY/NJ/CT/PA area that have indoor pools and couple massages?

Not sure if they have an indoor pool, but East Wind has a great couples massage with a jacuzzi in the massage room

Re: Romantic Local Hotel with Spa?
Crystal springs and their sister hotel minerals resort are supposedly amazing! We are going to try and go there
They have an indoor outdoor pool that my aunt went in when it was cold. You enter the water inside and then can go outside and look at the mountains

Re: Romantic Local Hotel with Spa?
OK - a few different things, some I have done, some family/friends have done:
Gurney's Inn and Spa in Montauk. Not sure what time of year you are going but Montauk is a quiet, serene little gorgeous oasis in the "off" months. Gurney's is great because they have an indoor, heated, salt-water pool. It is divine!! Their spa is heaven and their rooms are cute, cozy, beachy, most have an ocean view. The restaurants in town are amazing: The Inlet, The Harvest, Mannucci's, St. Peter's Catch, etc. Just check out and make sure none are closed in the off-season. Some are. That is, if you are going in the off-season.
A friend of mine did the Spa at the Lodge at Woodloch and really loved it - they did couples activities, she said, as well as spa treatments. It was, according to her, very romantic and serene.
We went up to Saratoga for DH's cousin's wedding and we stayed at the Gideon Putnam Hotel and Spa - that's where the wedding was - and the Spa was beautiful!!! The Hotel was very nice, nice staff, good restaurant, etc. It was really a romantic little getaway but the Spa was fantastic.
There are other romantic spots but you'd have to check out separate accommodations from the spa - the above have both on the same property. Places like Newport, RI, Boston MA, Mystic, CT, and New Hope, PA have beautiful B&B's that you can experience along with a separate spa day -- and check out vineyards, most of the above places have vineyards that you can do along with your spa/R&R experience and it is a nice add-on.
Enjoy!!!!

Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa, upstate right outside of New Paltz. It's a quaint B&B with a farm to table restaurant, spa, indoor pool, sauna, etc. best part is the shower at the spa there with about a dozen shower heads!

Re: Romantic Local Hotel with Spa?
Saybrook Inn and Spa. DH and I went two years ago. We as a really nice couples massage, we had a beautiful room with a fireplace, and had a really great meal in their restaurant. I would love to try the Spa at Woodloch, but it's definitely on the pricey side.

Re: Romantic Local Hotel with Spa?
Thanks everyone for all of your replies. We have been to some of the places you suggested and they are lovely. We were thinking of returning to Cascades but we will have to postpone our plans as the dates that were good for us are no longer available. Oh well, more time to plan and look for something fun. We might just try to do an overnight instead of a longer trip.
Thanks!
Oh in case someone else looks these things up - someone else recommended nemacolin in PA and the Greenbriar in W VA (but I think they are a little farther than we want to travel.)
