Hi. We didn't go to open houses....we saw houses with a broker instead.

Re: Ronkonkoma - areas to avoid?
there is an area near the lake-it might be considered Lake ronokoma that has suffered with terrible flooding problems for the last few years. I believe one of the streets is called Charles Court. If you search Newsdays archives you'll probably find a map. that's the only thing I'd be concerned with. We looked in Ronkonkmoa & put bids in therebefore we decided to move further east. Good luck

It's the area by the old Bavarian Inn.
Other than that issue, I don't really think there is a bad area in Ronkonkoma or Lake Ronkonkoma. But I'm biased, since I live in Lake Ronkonkoma

Re: Ronkonkoma - areas to avoid?
I think it's mostly your own preference...We are avoiding looking near the airport, train station, or train tracks because of noise, right around the lake because of flooding, and I prefer Connetquot SD because it is smaller so we are looking in the Connetquot area as opposed to Sachem.

I agree. Is this the areas you're looking in? have you found anything you like?

Re: Ronkonkoma - areas to avoid?
I've heard a variety of opinions but I think it's just a matter of taking a look at the street you are interested in. I own a business in the area and my clients are mostly Ronkonkoma residents. I feel safe in the area and I'm comfortable there.
