Room darkening blinds/shade or curtains?

I need to buy something for the baby's room....her room faces an intersecting street so headlights beam right into her room and it's super bright in there.

I need new curtains and a shade/blinds for her window anyway. I would really like white because it goes with the color scheme.

I see One Step Ahead makes a darkening liner, anyone use that? Or anything else to recommend?

Thanks!

I got Michael's panels from Pottery Barn Kids. They're great, totally block out the light during the day.

I have the liner from Pottery Barn and then the curtain attaches with hooks to the liner! I love them!! They work great and they help control the temperature in her room too.

Re: Room darkening blinds/shade or curtains?

In DD's room we hung room darkening or blackout roller shades that we bought at home depot. (Very inexpensive.)

I have the darkening liners from One Step Ahead. I really like them. I searched extensively for the right set of liners and was able to buy with a coupon code so the price became very reasonable.

Before I bought the liners light got in all around the shades we hung. With the liners I can get her room almost fully dark, even for naps.

Her windows face East and South. If we forget to close the shade or the liner she wakes up at the crack of dawn. If we have them all closed she'll sleep until 8am.

We bought room darkening shades from Blinds to Go and they are great! I would definitely recommend them!
