RP from NFR- I'm a newbie & I already have a question
Hi there!
My name is Christina & I was married on 3/3/07. I just crossed over from Liw.com and my screen name is pretty much the same.
so here's my question:
My hubby will be turning 30 on 9/14/09 and I wanted to throw him a BIG surprise party. I wanted to rent a really nice hall in LI. but here's the problem, we have 1 bank acct. that we share & that's it. no seperate accts. so how can I keep this a surprise? how can I pay the hall and still keep this a surprise? are there any halls that take credit cards as a payment?
TIA!
btw, I am happy to apart of LIF now!

Maybe you could talk to a hall and give them a card to hold "on file" but tell them you'd prefer to pay in cash. This way there's no paper trail (except the receipts from the hall) for your DH to follow. Congrats on your marriage! HTH!

Credit Card Hold seems like the best way to be discrete. Congrats on your recent wedding!

Congrats on your wedding!
I threw DH a surprise 25th bday party this past October. All I did was save $$ out of my weekly "allowance" and I paid for it all in cash.

How about opening up an ING account and putting $ there? Its free to open one and they have great interest rates.

I agree...I am 28 turning 29 and if my husband was thinking about what to do "when I turn 30" I would be annoyed. Enjoy the present!!!

I agree - time goes by so quickly, she is thinking ahead - good for you!
also - some surprise parties are like weddings, so people who plan their weddings 1.5 to 2 yrs in advance is very normal, why not this as well?

Re: RP from NFR- I'm a newbie & I already have a question
ladies! sorry for being MIA on my very post.
but the reason why I wanted to plan ahead it's b/c I want to throw a really nice party for him. Where I don't have to do a thing but just show up. So I am assuming that a party like that with about 150 people will cost me a small fortune. which makes it a tad difficult.. because we have only a joint acct. and no seperate acct. I was a bit concerned about paying for this w/out him knowing.
but I started the ING acct. and have been saving w/out him knowing. once the party is over I will close the acct.
thanks for all of the tips and advice as it was great appreciated!
