Running question!

what do you wear in the rain?

I'm running a 5k on Sunday (Tunnel to Towers), and the last I looked, the weather is calling for rain.

TIA!

Re: Running question!

I actually love running in the rain! I usually wear a very light weight windbreaker with a hood, a tank underneath and usually running shorts. Nothing cotton accept socks and sneaks because you don't want your clothes to absorb the water. Good luck, I love that run!

Re: Running question!

its supossed to be in the high 60s, so wear a tank top, & shorts. If your going to get wet, the last thing you want to do its be lugging around wet clothes. So the least clothes possible. Important thing is to have dry clothes (socks and change of shoes too) waiting in the car for after. I ran a half marathon in the rain and it was 45 degrees. Now that sucked! But I love the rain in the warmer weather. have a great race!

Re: Running question!

Hey, I'm doing T to T too!!

I did it 3 years ago in a downpour. I don't do shorts in public like that...especially with all those firemen around! Chat Icon Chat Icon I wore yoga pants, a tank and a long sleeved shirt on top. I took off the shirt and tied it around my waist for most of the run. I also wore a baseball cap. I guess that'll be my plan depending on the weather this time...although if it's going to be another downpour, I may not even go...

Re: Running question!

I say wear a visor, if you are okay with a little rain, just bring clothes to change into. Otherwise try a very light windbreaker. I personally LOVE running in the rain because I stay cool!

Re: Running question!

Thanks everyone! I'll leave a change of clothes and socks with my husband to have for me at the finish!

I have a lightweight waterproof jacket. I'll see what the weather is actually like before I leave to head to the start line in Brooklyn.

I'm excited about this run! Looks like they get a big turnout!
