Running sneaker advice
I started working out again and have been getting terrible shin splints. I have a feeling it may be my sneakers so if you can recommend which ones you use. I am not running miles at a time, mostly treadmill.
Thank you

Re: Running sneaker advice
get yourself to a running shoe store. i prefer small, mom and pop places. those people know their sh!t much more than a chain place that just hires anyone.
get yourself measured and have someone watch your gait. the shoes might be a little more expensive, but it will save you so much pain.
i happen to love New Balance shoes.
good luck in finding something that works for you.

Re: Running sneaker advice
I was going to suggest a running store as well. You can't go by recommendations on sneakers- everyone's foot is as unique as their fingerprint to be honest. It all depends on your arches, your gait, your issues, the pain you are having and where it is, how you run, where you run (treadmill vs outdoors etc)
It's so important to get the right shoe for YOU- otherwise you will be plagued with injuries. Running is VERY hard on your joints. You need a good shoe and one that's fitted for you.
And I don't run but I love New Balance as well- because for ME that's the only sneaker I can wear without pain after 3 steps. But not every new balance. Only one specific style. So yeah, go get fitted.

Re: Running sneaker advice
My friend highly recommends Brooks. If you go to their store, they will test your foot out.

Running sneaker advice
I like brooks a lot but I had injured my knee and switched to Hokas, which have a lot of cushion. Love them.

I have brooks now and have zero shin splints. Had ASICS before that and they weren’t right on me.
I want to try Hokas as well. Heard all good things

Thanks again! It's so frustrating when the pain starts so def think it's the sneakers I am wearing.

It probably is ! I had them so bad. I couldn’t get through an entire run/walk without hobbling in pain.
In the brooks? Nothing. Not even a little.

Re: Running sneaker advice
I can't recommend ON Cloud enough. Best running sneakers. So light on the feet. They have different style depending on your performance.

Yes, the one in Huntington Village. Wow talk about people who are passionate about their job....I was blown away by the knowledge and what goes into picking the right sneaker.
