Need quick advice re: baby's nap running into bedtime

So, I put my DS in for a nap at 5:40. Usually he just sleeps for about 20 minutes or so. Then at about 6:45, we put him in his pj's, put his overnight diaper on, feed him his nighttime bottle and put him to bed. He is usually asleep by 7:15 and sleeps until 7 or so the next morning.

He is STILL "napping" and he should be eating right now.

Do I leave him? Do I wake him to change and eat?

If I leave him, do you think he'll sleep through the night?

What do I do?

I normally never wake DD from a nap but I know if she sleeps past 5 pm then it disrupts her night time sleeping so I do not let her go past 5 - I wake her up

ETA - DD is 19 months old and I have been doing this for awhile

I've woken DD up if she was napping too late. We don't follow a schedule, but bedtime is important, I wouldn't mess with that. Just wake him slowly and gently, he'll be ok Chat Icon

Thank you!

DH and I went up and gently woke him up. He was so sweet. We quietly changed him and I fed him his bottle, swaddled him and he just layed there for about 15 minutes before falling asleep again. He kept looking at us like, "What's up guys?" with a little smile on his face. So beautiful. GOD, I love him!

Weekends are weird for us regarding naps because they're different than weekdays. Usually, my dad brings him to me at work and then the baby and I drive home, so he sleeps in the car. On weekends, since he's used to that nap, he gets cranky around 5ish and needs to sleep, but it's SO close to his bedtime so I'm torn every time.

Plus, my little guy randomly threw up this morning. We vegged out all day and just watched him to make sure he didn't get sick again (he didn't). I just want him to get good rest/sleep.

Thanks for your help!

My DS is 8 months next week and sometimes he goes to sleep for the night at 6:30PM if he doesn't take a third nap and has been up since 2 or 3PM. He definitely is cranky at 5/5:30 pm, and that's when we try to feed him, bathe, and start the routine for bed to keep him busy or else he's crying and whining a lot.

He will typically wake from his 2nd nap of the day at 3, and sometimes takes a short last nap from 4-4:30 or 4:30-5PM.

I know everyone's schedules are different though, so it's hard to time the naps.
