Bill Maher did a disservice to the left when he stooped to name calling versus the issues. Then again, I'd say that about anyone who does it.

At least he appologized last time I checked not one person on the left has ever apologized for the disgusting things they say about conservative women. And its not even sarah palin being called a c you next tuesday they have said nasty.disgusting things about michele bachmann, megyn kelly ect. So yes its def a double standard.
I'd like to hear what Hilary Clinton thinks about whether or not there is a double standard... I'm pretty sure she's taken more crap as a woman from the entire political arena in the last 20 years than any of these women.

OMG I am truly baffled by this whole thread...defending a man for calling a woman a C U NT but being outraged that one is calling a woman a S L U T!!!! Please tell me I am blind, please tell me I am not seeing this right, please tell me that there are HONESTLY NOT women on her saying one is worse because it is a part of the body. BOTH are degrading, BOTH men are pigs I don't care what side of the POLITICAL line they stand on and I really HATE to see anyone saying well because he is liberal, or republican, or democrate that it is okay...I mean really! Your posts are so condescending and belligerent it's a wonder people are even continuing to respond to you. It's an issue of common human decency- nobody should be resorting to name calling unless they are 5. Period. You make it sound as if it's only an issue because a woman is being called this or that. And I don't agree with that.

I agree with you. Both words are equally disgusting...the word C U N T definitely is DISGUSTING! I get that it's the equivalent of calling a man a **** but...I rarely use that term either unless I'm joking. I'd sooner use the term A-Hole, which I use for both sexes. I don't refer to my Vagina as a C U N T so to me, I cringe when I hear that word to me that word has serious weight to it.

IT'S about calling women degrading names and just b/c you dont agree wiht the woman who is the victim of the name calling..it's ok...of justified..
First, I didn't say you shouldn't have posted on this thread. My point was I don't find Bill Maher calling Sarah Palin a C*NT isn't relevant to Rush Limbaugh calling someone who is testifying a prostitute at all.
I was always taught that when you call names in an argument it's not a valid way of debating. (FTR, I am totally guilty of calling names during heated discussions lest you or anyone else I'm not sitting on a high horse here).
Because I found Rush Limbaugh a moron doesn't mean that I don't find Bill Maher calling Palin a C*NT any less offensive. It has nothing to do with politics.
It doesn't mean I don't support other women. I'm not getting where that's coming from.
