YES! i can't believe they pulled the other swimmers off the plane.....brazil is def not the place you want to be stuck for questioning.....im not sure why anyone would lie about something like this......

Someone just told me supposedly Lochte had just told his mother the story and she leaked it to the press. Its such a weird story.

The details were off from the beginning. I give them the benefit of the doubt that it did happen as they said. However many non-US news reports said he was so intoxicated that night he could not coherently give a clear story. Plus it seems it was on social media before being reported to police....Hopefully the athletes are not detained for long..

I was listening on the radio- it's crazy!

So what exactly is Ryan Lochte's story now? I heard he first said they were pulled over by fake cops and had a gun pulled on him and robbed. Now I hear he said they were actually at a gas station and they were trying to get the driver to leave but he wouldn't and then two guys came over and pulled a gun.

Something doesn't add up. And I feel for the swimmers who are still stuck there! From what I heard they're fine- they're not in any trouble, not arrested or anything, but they still had their passports confiscated and can't leave the country. So bizarre.

He is such an epic douche!!!! I think he's 100% lying because he's a self involved attention whore. His story has so many holes, I don't buy any of it for even a second.

If he just wanted attention, he could have just posted it to social media. But to actually file a police report is bizarre if it's all a lie!

I haven't really been following it, but this is what Billy Bush said this morning on the Today show:

“I spoke to him about four hours after he got into Olympic Village — or five hours — they’ve been out all night long,” he said. “He’s not the kind that can weave a brilliant tale when he hasn’t been out all night long, pardon me. The fact that he told this story so mellifluously makes me think, well, he could not have invented the whole thing.”

Ouch.

The whole story is strange - I read elsewhere that they were supposedly buying drugs and the reason their accounts conflict is because they dont want to get caught admitting they were buying from a dealer...(?!)

The whole thing is strange. He said that their cab was stopped by fake cops that held them up and had a gun to his head. It was 4am and they were wasted. He told his mom and filed a police report, but then told the Olympic committee it didn't happen.

When the police wanted to search his apartment and confiscate his passport he had already left. Surveillance cameras at the airport show him with his wallet he said was stolen.

Now he said he was so drunk he couldn't remember. That the gun wasn't held to his head but was waved around.

And those poor other swimmers were pulled off the airplane! They probably thought they were in the clear to head home. That could never happen in the US. Being pulled off the plane, passports taken only bc they are potential witnesses to testify. They didn't even committ the crime (if Ryan did in fact lie).

So bizarre

Ryan Lochte and three other US Olympic swimmers lied about being robbed at gunpoint to cover up a brawl they had with a gas station security guard, authorities said Thursday.

Brazilian authorities have video of a brouhaha involving American swimmers Ryan Lochte, Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz and Jimmy Feigen and a rent-a-cop, ABC News reported.

At least one of the swimmers can be seen fighting with the security guard and one of the Americans was shown breaking down a bathroom door during the melee, according to ABC.

“One of the swimmers was seen on CCTV footage breaking down the door to the bathroom at the gas station and fighting with a security guard” on the night of the incident, a Brazilian police official said.

When the US swimmers first reported the incident, they were too drunk to give even the most basic details – such as the number of robbers, ABC reported.

Conger and Bentz had been set to jet out of Rio de Janeiro airport Wednesday night before they were grounded in Brazil.

Feigen had also been set to fly out Wednesday but didn’t show up for his flight.

Lochte had already flown home to the US on Monday, a police spokesman said.

Feigen has been in contact with police and all three men planned to meet with Brazilian law enforcement on Thursday, according to USOC spokesman Patrick Sandusky.

The US State Department urged the swimmers to cooperate with Brazilian officials.

I read somewhere that they were leaving a brothel and something happened with the cab driver. His GF was supposedly waiting in his room for him while all of this was going down. Details were lied about to cover up where they really were. So many rumors out there now

And Lochte is back safe in the US while the other swimmers are still in Brazil. Although I don't blame anyone from wanting to leave ASAP an unknown country and a possible jail time even temporary in a foreign country, the guy left the others to handle it themselves. That's bad in my opinion!!! Plus this is creating a massive diplomatic issue. Brazil wants to save face after the major criticism they got on the lack of preparation. Ther is no telling what is everyone's agenda in this story.

Anyone know...where the F was Feigen?? He didnt show up for his flight, but he also wasn't in his room. So, um, where was he?
