?'s About Playtex Drop In Bottles....help
My twin boys are both dinking about 2 oz a feeding and I am currently using the 4 oz bottles.
Is there some magical way to remove the air from the liners. I am having a hard time fitting my fingers all the way up there.
Any advice to this new mom would greatly be appreciated. I am thinking of buying all new bottles because of this.
Also if you have the ready made formula how are your accurately measuring how much your child is eating....

Okay what I have done in past is take the nipple, squeeze and then push the drop in up, gradually letting the air out.
Dont be to forceful as I did that once and the bag POPPED all over me! I learned the hard way.
ETA: Ready feed is easier, just pour into bottles to how many oz needed.

I stuff a burp cloth up there to squeeze the air out if I can't reach. They also make ones with the slider on the bottom that you just push up. I don't know if they have them for the 4ounce size.
As far as how much they have eaten, you could open the cap to let the air back in to see. It's not entirerly accurate that way, but unless the babies have feeding issues (i.e. not gaining weight, etc.) and exact measurement really isn't necessary IMO.

You can use the round end of a spoon. Just press gently.

Here's what I do....fill the bottle with formula, twist on the cap/nipple 'almost all the way', before you tighten it completely, push the up the liner releasing the air.
Just be careful not to push too hard...or the formula will come spilling out! Also, once you tighten the cap, you can push up the liner a little more to get any air out that's left.

Loosen the collar of the bottle...gently and slowly push as much air out as needed and then re-tighten the collar. Super easy and MUCH faster...and you don't have to rely on the air escaping from the tiny, tiny hole in the nipple.
Not sure I understand your second question regarding amount, b/c the liners and the bottles have OZ. markings on them.

I would just untwist the cap a little. I would never push on the drop-in. My mom did that once and the liner came out.

I used to do that at the beginning. Then the liner moved a little and it leaked all over DS.
I use those small 2 oz bottles that I got from the hospital. From Isomil. I think the 2 oz RTF formula bottles work too. I use them to push the air out.

They used to sell something called a bottle burper..I dont know if they still do.
My DS is a big eater so I didnt have this issue with him..BUT my twins (girls, now 8 years old) were on 2 oz bottles when they came home from the hospital and I had one of those bottle burpers...
It fits up in the bottle so you can push out all the air..
My twins were holding their own bottles at 4 months. These worked out great b/c once all the air was out you didnt have to worry about the bottle being upright or not. I would simply put one in a bouncy seat..give her her bottle..and hold the other baby to feed..when it was time to burp we would switch who was being held...
UPDATE: I looked it up and you can still buy them..someone was selling them on ebay.
