Sad and Sick - Drunk Driver Kills Mom and Four Kids

This story is just so depressing. I saw it on Nancy Grace last night and they played all the 911 calls of people reporting this guy going the wrong way on the interstate. No one could catch up with him before it was too late. It makes me so sad that these innocent children and their mother lost their lives to this irresponsible jerk. I hope he gets charged and convicted with murder like in the Katie Flynn drunk driving case.

How terrible, I hope that guy rots in jail for the rest of his miserable life

I get so disgusted when I read stories like this. Whatever his punishment is going to be it isn't enough.

Really...what is wrong with people?!

The poor family--not only do they have to mourn 1 person but 5 and 4 of them children. They'll be in my prayers.

That really pi$$es me off. Hopefully the bar where he drinks gets in trouble too. May they rest in peace. I can't imagine what the father is going through as he finds out.

Unfortunately, it was before M.A.D.D. really got momentum in lobbying so his sentence wasn't as harsh as it would be now. It doesn't matter anyway...

The ones who truly serve the LIFE sentence are those who are left behind.

My mom had just turned 38... I was 8 and my brother was 4 (his 5th b-day was 5 days later )

I will NEVER, EVER understand why people DUI/DWI Call a friend, call a taxi, F r e a k i n WALK for !@#$ sake... people DIE and it is hardly ever the person who is drunk....

Can any of us even imagine having to raise our children ALONE and bury our spouse because of the reckless actions of another?

My dad did. And thus began a very stressful road for life for him... and a massive stroke ten years ago.

I'm o.k. but my children do not have a maternal grandparent that can read to them, hold them... just be active with them... The price is paid by the next generation as well.

all because a man (I DO know his name ) chose to drink and drive that night. I am sad for DC's yet very grateful they have wonderfully healthy paternal grandparents.

I just found out recently that my uncle has multiple DUI charges against him. I am so completely sickened by him.
I wish they would just lock him up so he can't hurt anyone.
I'm astonished at the selfishness involved in drunk driving.

That is just horrible. That poor man losing his family because someone else chose to be irresponsible. Drunk Drivers make me SICK. My brother was hit by a drunk driver nearly died. I was working in the hospital when they brought him in. The doctors didn't even think he was going to make it but luckily at that time he did. However his life was never the same afterwards he is now gone and I blame it on that day May that mother and her children RIP.

That is so sad. I've been saying for years that the laws for Drunken Drivers need to get strict. If you kill someone drunk driving you should get life in prison...period.

Theresa my heart breaks for you and all the families who have suffered a loss because of this. It's so senseless. If you drink don't drive period. Call a cab, a friend or wait until you are sober.

This is the exact reason why i chose to stay home with my Dh and DD on New years..

I pray for the souls of the lost and the family members still alive that will no longer be with them.
