sad, depressed, frustrated, etc...
So I can't help myself and have been testing to see if I'm pg. I am 11dpo and still getting negatve hpts, even with an "early" one. So I think I'm out...Anyway, it's been a few months since my m/c, but I'm getting impatient already...plus I'll be 36 in January, all my friends have at least one child, I'm among the oldest and I'm just downright sad.
Anyway, with AF's visit coming up, I was thinking of clomid since it was presented to me as an option at one point. My question is do I have to do IUI with it or can it be done on its own. I am afraid of the side effects, especially the drying of the CM. I just don't know if I'll be wasting my time and if does not work, will my cycles be all messed up after going on it? I had an hsg last month, Dh was tested a few months ago (average, but on the lower side, we got pg back in spring)....so just not sure what to do.
if someone can provide me any info on how it works, side effects, etc, I would appreciate it!!
Thanks for listening...

Re: sad, depressed, frustrated, etc...
I am doing clomid on its own. My DH doesn't believe in IUI or IVF.... due to religious beliefs. I can't tell you about the cycles being messed up- my dr. put me on provera to bring on AF which just arrived on Saturday so now I'm going for round 3 of clomid which I'll be getting after my sonogram on Wed. I am definitely more dry--- I was just thinking that i don't know how I'm going to manage to get a sonogram done b/c i'm so dry and i know it's going to bother me. Anyway, enough of my complaints. The most common side effect is the hot flashes which don't start until after you're done w/ the pills usually.

Re: sad, depressed, frustrated, etc...
Hi there, don't be sad.. its a very fustrating period i know i'm going thru the same things. I have been on clomid for four months and have had five iui and nothing has worked. Clomid is good for others depending on there issues.. I had no side effects while I took clomid. I have gone to injections now with the docters suggestion produced 5 eggs on the follistan injections and had another iui cross your fingers have 10 days before any good news.. Just believe that one day it will happen and it will.. P.S. I'm 38 turning 39 next month time is ticking for me.. I'm only hopeful and leave it in gods hands...

Clomid can definitely be done on its own. As far as your CM being drier, you can use preseed when you bd. it is very sperm friendly. Since you got pregnant b4 I don't see why it wouldn't happen again, but since your DH's count is a little on the lower side and your worried about CM you might want to consider iui. good luck!

Thanks - has anyone had success w/ preseed? Sorry for the question, but how do you use it - yes, can you say "clueless"

Re: sad, depressed, frustrated, etc...
I've used Clomid and O on my own. I've also done IUIs, which have have been a breeze for me. Even if you do an IUI you can still BD after it to add more swimmers. I've taken 50mg of Clomid and had minimal side effects! You can get a lot of information on Fertility Friend's Medicated Cycles message board.
There are two types of preseed...one has an internal applicator and the other is like regular lube in a single use packet. I like the second one better.

Re: sad, depressed, frustrated, etc...
I am so sorry you are feeling down! We have all been there. I took clomid for the first time this cycle (50mg) and am not doing IUI. We are going to try for three cycles before moving on, but I am 29, so I am not sure if age has anything to do with it. As for the CM being dried up - I have noticed it, but I bought preseed for my fertile days (if I ever get any!), so I can't give you any personal experience, but I have seen girls on TTC who have gotten pg using it.
Good luck!
oh, ETA I didn't have any side effects.

Same story and I agree on all counts. Honestly i didn't notice all that much of a difference with my CM on Clomid. then again, I was treated for infection and my CM notably increased
