I'm actually kinda ****** at the Rescue agency - they seem to be looking out more for themselves than the dog!! Like if this celebrity doesn't want the dog, they will find another celebrity  .

I agree with you KAren about the rescue agency....they should have been Happy that Ellen found a good home for the dog rather than "returning" it like a purse she didnt want!!
And its ELLEN!! the biggest animal lover out there...she would NEVER have done anything bad to the dog!!

 for her. That's so sad, she was trying to do the right thing by placing Iggy in a loving home of people she KNEW and she and the family are being punished. I hope they recieve a lot of flack for doing what they did... they should be grateful that Iggy was placed in a loving home by a person who had his best interest at heart.

This is horrible and that so called "rescue" agency should be ashamed of itself.
I don't understand why the family she gave the dog to can't go and "rescue" the dog from the agency.
This is heartbreaking!

I hope with all the attention it's getting, they will reconsider. Does anyone know the name of the rescue agency?
BUT, on a side note, when we rescued our dog, the agency explicitly told us that if we couldn't take care of her to notify them. Don't just give her away. So I don't know if I buy the "I didn't know" excuse. But I do still feel bad for the other family.

I don't think she would be so emotional about it if she didn't know. And I am sure the reason the shelters have these rules to to prevent the dog from going to an abusive home. If she had already done it, I don't understand why they couldn't check out the family and see if they were a suitable match for the puppy. Why take a dog that has bonded and put it back in shelter environment? Who is that benefitting if the new home was a loving one?

I feel soooo bad for Ellen and those little girls!! I just don't get it. Why did the dog have to be returned? She placed Iggy in a loving home. Why did it have to go back to the shelter? That is so unfair.

OMG so sad
She obviously tried acclimating the dog and it didn't work so she did the next best thing by finding it a good home. Shame on that rescue organization! I understand why they have those sort of rules in place, but it is clear that the dog was placed in a loving home and should have never been taken away

totally what i was thinking! if they were so concerned, why didnt they evaluate the home and make sure it was suitable instead of just going there and taking the dog back without so much as a warning?
i've never seen Ellen cry...she's always laughing and making jokes. very sad to see her so upset by this.
eta: ya know...technically this could've been moved to the celebrity board too...or families helping families. this whole post moving thing is just odd to me.
