My heart breaks for them  I mean, come on.....yes, she violated the contract but isn't getting the dog a home the POINT!! Can't the hairdresser's family now go back and adopt him???

While I think its horrible when people just adopt animals and get "rid" of them. I KNOW ellen LOVES ANIMALS. I know she was only looking out for the best interest of the animals.
I am DISGUSTED that the rescue org. Would take the dog out of ANOTHER loving home Poor Iggy

These people actually showed up at this family's home with the police and are refusing to give the dog back. This is all over the news. There is zero sympathy for this organization and all they can say is that Ellen "breached the contract". What idiots! Don't they realize that if they did the right thing, that she would, probably, have made a sizable donation to their organization? It's one thing to stand on principle, it's quite another to dig in your heels and make a fool of yourself. Some people just make you want to go

OK..
I just saw this lady on the news and honestly both my jaw and my DH's jaw DROPPED and I blurted out EWWWW What a b!tch!
She said if Ellen wants to open up her own shelter and decide where pets go then she can but I don't tell her how to run her show.
She also said she refuses to give the dog back to the family because of the way she was treated by ellen and her "people" Thats disgusting. The poor girls and dog caught in the middle of this.
She also said she has a policy not to adopt to families with children under 14

I did see this on GMA today. My jaw dropped. I know she can make whatever rules she wants, but if this were handled better, Mutts & Moms would be getting donations rather than threats.
I also think it's odd she named her shelter Mutts & Moms, which to me sounds family friendly, and then refuses to adopt to many families. Just because a child is under 14 years doesn't mean they won't treat an animal nicely.

RIGHT... I understand rules are rules. I think she handeled it really crappy. She showed up with the COPS to take the dog back 
My dh was like what happens if shortly after you adopt the dog you become pregnant they take the dog away.
I wish I saw this before I wrote the nice email to her.

No - they wont adopt small dogs to a family with children under 14. So ridiculous - so pull the dog out of from a family that will take good care of him and bring the dog back to the shelter.??? That makes a lot of sense!

for her. That's so sad, she was trying to do the right thing by placing Iggy in a loving home of people she KNEW and she and the family are being punished. I hope they recieve a lot of flack for doing what they did... they should be grateful that Iggy was placed in a loving home by a person who had his best interest at heart.
I know I agree....Ellen was just trying to do the right thing

I've seen some rescues say this dog will be better with children under so and so age. Totally different then this....
