Saf-T Swim Mommy & Me
Opinions?
Was thinking of trying it out with my 6 month old son and just wondering if anyone has done them before. If so, how did you like it?
I live out east, so would be going to the one in Riverhead.
Don't know if I am brave enough to wear my bathing suit in a public place like that

Re: Saf-T Swim Mommy & Me
it's okay- i'm doing it now. i guess for $100 it's worth it but it's sort of disorganized. DD enjoys being in the water but she definitely isn't learning anything.

Re: Saf-T Swim Mommy & Me
Abby started Saf T Swim as a toddler. At her age it is not done with a parent in a group, rather one on one with an instructor. She is learning a lot. We want her swimming safely and confidently BEFORE she is old enough and starts day camp. She also talks about it all the time and has swum on the hardwood floor. Good times.

Thanks for your input!
They are running a special right now - $59 for 6 sessions. Figured it's worth a try...we'll see how it goes

Re: Saf-T Swim Mommy & Me
We didn't do Mommy & Me -- but Ale takes private lessons (in Bellmore) twice a week now and she LOVES it. I see 6 month old babies taking the same lessons and it's amazing...

Re: Saf-T Swim Mommy & Me
So someone explain, in the individual classes to the infants learn more, than in the mommy and me?
I keep hearing that infant swim classes are a joke.

The mom I was speaking to the other day did Mommy & Me with her now-3-year-old son, but is doing private lessons for her 6 month old daughter, and she says it is so much better, that her DD is learning way more than her son did. HTH.

Re: Saf-T Swim Mommy & Me
I love Saf-T-Swim! DS started when he was a year old doing individual lessons with him and the instructor. He loves it and he can learn from her and we don't have to go in.

I can't speak for mommy and me but I can speak for individual lessons.
DS started in June when he was a year old. During the lessons they go over kicking, moving his arms like the strokes, jumping in, going underwater, swimming to a toy and much more. He has learned so much and LOVES the water!
