Safe cleaner for wood floors or steam mop?

DS loves to run around the house and I always let him go barefoot, but no matter how much i clean the floors he always seems to have black feet by the time he's done.
We have 95% wood floors and the rest are tile.

Any recommendations on a safe floor cleaner or has anyone used the steam mop (like a bissel) i saw a commercial and wanted to see if it was worth the $$

I bought the shark steam cleaner.

I actually LOVE it!!
no mop, bucket, cleaning products.
It's quick & I think the wood floors feel so clean under your feet.


I have the bona wood cleaner. I like that too.

I got it at BJ's a couple months ago.

I love my shark steam mop!

You could also try method wood floor cleaner.

I also noticed that no shoes in the house cuts down the amount of build up on the floors.

steam mop, makes floors so clean and easy! We have a Haan mop and love it.

I wouldn't use any cleaners nothing gets them as clean as steam, and I hate the smells of everything, even things safe as vinegar

I have the white steam mop, it comes with more attachments.

I have the Shark Vac then Steam.
It is AMAZING.
I love that you can vacuum up all the loose debris, pet hair, etc first- then switch it right to the steam function.
No chemicals, is fast, and dries super fast.
My floors SPARKLE afterwards.

We have 100% hardwoods and I use the steam mop regularly, but I find my floors still look dirty every month or so.

I wonder why? everyone raves about it and I love it for weekly cleaning, but feel like I still need a good mopping with Murphy's wood oil once a month or so..

i just ordered the Eureka Envirosteam mop on amazon...seemed to get the best reviews online...fingers crossed it helps!!!

I use the shark vac and steam mop.. LOVE it.. I also spray a vinegar/water as I'm doing the steam and it gets them REALLY clean...

I just was at my parents house and they have hard wood, they said they wouldn't never dream steam mopping because their hard wood isn't as "finished" as ours. Ours has at least 3 layers of glossy varnish on it, so its protected from steam. Maybe that is why I'm so biased.

They use Murphy Oil Soap and say its the best for wood. No idea how "safe" this cleaner is.

I recently got my wood floors done and the guy who did them actually recommended just water and white vinegar in a spray bottle w/dry swiffer.
