Safe-t-Swim - Mommy attire question!

I start a Mommy & Me swim class on Saturday and I seriously have NEVER owned a one-piece bathing suit. Can I wear a bikini and throw a rash guard over it? Is that totally lame or should I run out and try to find a suit? Chat Icon

I'm jealous! I convert a couple of years before Ds was born but a lot of moms wore 2 pieces. Whatever you feel comfortable in!

I bought a tankini from Target and wore that. First time ever wearing one, and I found it to be really comfortable. I even wore it to the sprinkler parks with him this past summer.

ETA: We took a class at the YMCA, and they advised not wearing string bikinis. After one class, I could see how that would be a major "issue" with a clingy toddler!

I wore a tankini and that's what the other moms in the class wore, but I think you could wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

When we did group classes if the mom's had a bikini on they usually just threw a tank on top or something... b/c you also have a baby hanging off of you that is sometimes trying to grab anything you have on... just to be safe I would throw a rash guard or tank on. Chat Icon
