Other than that, like others have said the positives far outweigh the negatives. For me, anyway.

I always said i would never be a stay at home mom, i love working and making my own money.
I LOVE staying home with DD and now we have another coming, my entire paycheck would be paying for daycare, at that point i would rather be home with my kids then work for someone else to care for them. I enjoy taking care of my home and my family.
The cons of it: no paycheck, no work friends, more or less no friends at all, they all ditched me after i had Lauren (i was the first to start a family), i miss being able to go to the store and go shopping without having to ask DH for money.

BUT i wouldn't trade it for anything....i enjoy what i do and watching DD grow up every day...

I agree. While I NEVER wanted to be a SAHM I am so happy I am now. As long as you try to incorporate what it is you like about about working into your lifestyle as a SAHM it works out great.

yes the lack of a paycheck as someone said earlier!
that and winter is BORING because we cant play outside with all this snow on the ground! Also, sometimes I wish I had more SAHM friends.
I dont even mind the being "on" all the time. I made peace with that awhile ago. I am happy with my life and this choice and I cant imagine doing anything differently and hope I never have to.

OMG - I cant read these anymore!! It makes me want to go back to work..(jk) Only because I totally agree with everything said - but of course, wouldnt trade being home with DS for anything.. he is the best, I love every second with him

I think being s SAHM has good days and bad days... (and great days and awful days! haha)

I will say my negative that I felt at the beginning of being home...

I felt unappreciated!! My DH "expected" me to do things (um - everything) and when I did b/c I understood I was home and he worked, I didnt get any acknowledgement for it...
I communicated my feelings and it has all been ok since... but that was one thing that def made me want to go back to work...

and 1 more thing - watching our spending money!!

My only con is the lack of disposible cash for me to spend on frippery! I am always out and about busy most days, hanging out with friends, going to baby groups, doing the school run, drinking coffee...but I have no money to buy stuff! Ah well, its worth it!!

My only real issue right now with being a SAHM is not having my OWN paycheck, I hate having to ask dh for money
