Saline Ultrasound
Just came back from ob gyn apt. He recommends Saline Ultrasound aka Sonohysterogram, b/c he thinks he sees some fibroid at the very far wall of my uterus. Anyone had this done?

I had this done twice. They basically insert saline into your uterus. The most painful it got was similar to a menstrual cramp. But the second she took the tube out, the pain was gone. It's not so bad. Good luck!

I think it is a cross between an HSG and a water sonogram. I had the water sonogram and it wasn't too bad. A little uncomfortable but over really quickly. GL

HSG I believe is the dye through the tubes.
The Sonohysterography is the one of the uterus.
I had both...the HSG was more uncomfortable than the Sonohysterography was much more comfortable but neither was bad.

I've had a saline sono twice...They basically insert a catheter ( similar to an IUI if you've ever had one) and inject water ..NOTHING remotely close to the discomfort of an HSG thankfully ...
For me it was akin to a pap..Worst part being the stupid speculum

same here. not painful at all and i am super sensitive. it was also very quick, over in less than 10 min.

I agree. It wasn't painful at all. Similar to a pap and then a regular internal Sono.
