Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?

I had to ask for another set with less editing. The first batch was bad. I loved the second batch.
We just did ours on Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised by it. My 3 yo DD was not feeling well and I had zero expectations of my 16 mo DS. Lol. They both did pretty well considering.
I thought the Santa was great, and the girls were good too although I thought very young, esp the photographer. I'm hoping for some good shots. We did a couple of family photos since I'm pregnant and thought that would be fun.
I also thought the photos from last year were better and have heard that she grew very quickly and the photos aren't as good. I'll be happy if I get a few good ones.
Did you just reach out and ask for re-editing? I'm glad this is an option and I would never have known or thought to ask if I didn't see your post.

Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?
We did them this year and they came out AMAZING. Such beautiful pictures, I couldn't be happier. I think depending on who did the editing they can look different, my kids definitely don't have a creepy Storybook look. They are just really sweet pics with Santa.
ETA - I have seen a few that looked overly edited and the colors were too fake looking but I was pleasantly surprised by mine.
The package was $250 for those that were wondering and I booked my November shoot back in January/February.

Does anyone have one they could post or an example. I have no idea what these are and am so curios
Here is an article with some pics Storybook Experience
That pic in the article does look kind of creepy....reminds me of the photo editing app on my phone that makes pics look like this. I do like her previous work though

Yes, immediately emailed when I got my batch and said they were over edited and please correct and send back. Got them back next day. Mine personally I love and have gotten tons of texts asking where I got them done.

Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?
I've liked the ones I have seen and do agree they can sometimes be too edited and look too wax figure looking.
I think it depends on who is doing the editing. It's easy To go "too far" with filters.

Thanks for the link interesting. Not my thing I would never spend that kind of money on that. Some are nice but some are totally creepy and fake looking. Too over the top for me

Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?
We did it last year and my pics came out nice. Not creepy or over edited.
I got a bunch of cards from friends that did it this year and the quality is much different. It just doesn't look like their kids at all. I understand the creepy commen. Def not liking them this year.

How many pictures did you get and how long is the shoot? DS will be just over 1 next year and I'm not sure if its worth it....

Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?
I don't know much about it, but I can see how the idea is really cute. First off, I'm Jewish so won't be doing them, but can you explain how it works. Is the Santa very interactive while the photographer takes pics? Do they tell them where to look when they see the so called "magic.?"
Wondering if the child looks at the pictures and says... wait, I don't remember floating lights when we were there? LOL
How long is it and how does it work?
I did skim through FB and noticed the pics from last year weren't as cartoon'ish and more real.

Are different photographers doing them now? I've see the original company on line and I think they look very cute/sweet. But maybe others on jumping on the bandwagon now.

Yes! My pics were amazing last year and this year I actually asked for a refund. There is bound to be a decrease in quality when you go from 400-5000 shoots. She makes a killing though and people are lining up for next year!!

Ahhh ok. This makes sense. She's going to ruin her reputation if she doesn't get more experienced people working for her.

Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?
I just saw one FB friend's pics & thought they were supposed to be over-edited to look like they were in a book, but I see the older ones on the FB page & like them better.
I do like that the kids usually seem to be having fun--and not terrified like some mall Santa pics.

$250/12 pictures/20 minutes
You can buy 5 additional pics for $50 or you can have all 30'ish shots for an additional $75. Mine came out really good and I couldn't decide so I bought them all.

Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?
I agree. She grew the business too quickly and the pics are downright creepy this year. The editing is so out of control the pictures look animated. The ones they use to advertise on FB are pretty scary. I feel bad saying that because that's someones kid and I'm sure the kids are adorable but all that editing makes them look fake. Last year, I couldn't wait to do a session with DS. I signed up to be notified for the early booking for this year but I didn't book it because DS still cries with Santa and other costumed characters. I'm glad we didn't book it.

Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?
Couple of my friends did them last year and they came out amazing. I was excited to do it this year and did the shoot in September. My pics came out ok (not great, but ok). I was able to make nice cards and I keep getting compliments on them. But, I do think the quality has gone WAY down & the editing is not good a lot of the time. I know a few people that were unhappy this year and said never again. She definitely went for quantity over quality.

Previous work and customer service, beyond amazing. Now, it could not be worse. It seems everything is outsourced, including the call center you get when you try to call and actually speak to someone. There must be a reason they took down the review section of their Facebook page and delete any non positive posts...just saying...

Santa Experience Pics creepy?
I have to say we went last year and my pictures were stunning. I mean absolutely gorgeous! We did it again this year and let me just say- we didn't even use them for a card!! They were horrible. I didn't even think to ask for a refund or to have them edited differently. I really wish I Did thank god I had already done a photo shoot with someone else in the fall and I used those instead. Talk about a waste of money. My daughter is extremely photogenic. Not just saying it, she really happens to be and the pics looked nothing like her. She had on a blCk velvet dress and it came out gray and almost looked dirty. I was so unhappy.

Re: Santa Experience Pics creepy?
I don't find them too creepy but I understand what you are saying. I think it's the overly drawn/detailed filter. kind of cartoonish, like the Polar Express movie which totally creeped me out for this reason. You can see every strand of hair etc.
I will say these pictures are so not my style. I find them way too over the top. No offense to whoever likes them.

Santa Experience Pics creepy?
I know a lot of people who did them this year and they were extremely disappointed. The editing was horrible and just a bad experience altogether. The only good thing about what I have seen about them is at least the Santa is not scary because the Easter Bunny she uses is freaky looking

The Santa we had for our shoot was AMAZING!! He was everything I would picture Santa to look like, I couldn't have been happier with the choice. However, I saw a few other shoots from this year (friends/family) and I didn't care AT ALL for the Santa they got. We lucked out.
I have no clue who edited our pics but thankfully the kids don't look remotely cartoonish or edited. My kids look like my kids (as if I took the pic) with just a really cute Santa setup around them. I wouldn't do the pics again because it would be redundant however, I'm SO happy to finally have really nice, special pics of my kids with Santa while they still believe. Especially my DD because at 8 years old, this is the FIRST time EVER she's let me get pics of her with Santa so I could not be more thrilled!!
Here is one pic from my shoot.

This is cute! Are all of your pics like this? I wonder why they make some look so cartoony, and some look just like regular photographs. I know they have different editors, but there should still be some consistency across the board in how she wants her work to look!

ITA with you about the editing. I got about 25-30 images and thankfully, they ALL looked like the one I posted. I didn't get any that had that weird, colored in, cartoonish filter. Like I said, I feel like all of my pics just look like a normal image of my kids in a cute Xmas scene.
