Saving for home
What do you recommend is the best way to save for a home? Unfortunately we didn't get the money from our wedding so we have to save now. We can put aside money weekly into an ING account but is there a better way? Also are there areas in Westchester/Queens that anyone would recommend? THANKS

Re: Saving for home
Have a set amount of $ transferred into your savings account weekly. Also, if you see you can save more then manually transfer it. At least this way every month you have a set amount being transferred and anything extra is gravy.
That's what DH and I did and 2 years after getting married we bought our first home. Just take into account that what's in savings "should" be more then just your downpayment. Also factor in closing costs, moving expenses, furniture costs, and decide now how much you want to have remaining in savings after all these things are paid for.
