Scariest moment of my life, just got back from the emergency room!
First, Eddie is thankfully OK.
But....Eddie fell down an entire full flight of stairs from the top. While we were finishing up dinner DH left to go to CVS to pick up DS script, and I didnt know he took the gate off the stairs (we live ina 2nd floor co-op) so I took DS out of his highchair and told him to go in the den. I was dust busting up his food and heard the loudest THUD THUD THUD THUD and then I screamed louder than Ive ever screamed in my life I ran to the stairs and he was laying at the bottom of them. He had a bloody nose and I picked him up and other than his nose he seemed OK. DH walked in the door two seconds later and we took DS to the hospital. They were considering doing a cat scan bc of his bloody nose but decided since it comes with a risk of developing cancer or damaging his IQ that since he seemed fine otherwise they would do without it. Part of me would like the peace of mind knowing his head is OK, but I agree that if he seemed fine otherwise, I would also never forgive myself if he was fine and 5 years from now developed cancer. It was such a tough call. Hes sleeping now and we have to wake him up every two hours, so hopefully he sleeps OK, and remains OK throughout the night and is himself tomorrow. Im still nervous and shaken up. I will never forget the sound of the thuds. I feel like the worst mother ever bc I didnt check the gate, I just assumed it was still up. Anyway, just wanted to share and remind you to always triple check your gates even when you think they are up.

My nephew fell down a flight of stairs in my house when he was just about to turn 2.. i didnt know he was walking around and I left the gate open for a minute to run and get something. Its the worst feeling ever.. I hope your little boy is okay!

I am so glad he is ok!! This is definitely my worst fear! I have had some near misses between my dh and my older dc!! I will pray that you all have a great night!!
