Really scary experience yesterday.
Wanted to share a really scary experience that happened to my family yesterday.
My mom (who is 60), my sister and I were pulling in our driveway, when we saw two drugged out girls walking down the block. They were getting naked in the street, starting to take off their underwear. One of them started hanging all over our front fence, basically in the nude. My mom got out to go in the house and said to them, you should put your clothes on before you get raped. One girl said in that druggy voice, im fine and kept walking. The bigger girl though, went up to my moms face and told her to f off. My mom, being a mom, said have some respect for yourself, get dressed! With that, the girl grabbed my mothers arm and started pushing her. My sister jumped in between and tried to seperate them and she pushed my sister. I ran over and grabbed the girl, she was SO STRONG! I pulled her off and when I did she swung at my face. She got a scratch in but that was it. She broke away from my hold and went directly for my mom. She pushed her on the floor and punched her in the face 3 TIMES! My sister and I were able to get her off and by this time my husband came out of the house (thank god the baby was napping inside!). He didnt want to hit girls so he just tried pulling her away. She started swinging at him..meanwhile the other girl came back and charged at us. I grabbed her by the hair and held her like that for at least a good 2 minutes. My mother was screaming and her face was all swollen. While my husband and sister were tending to my mom, BOTH girls came after me. Ripped my shirt, scratched my chest pretty good. Finally we were able to get in the house. They would NOT leave and kept screaming at us to come out so they could kill us.
About 10 people called the cops..took 40 minutes for them to come. What bothered me the most was that about 50 people were standing around watching..granted most were men, but neighbors we have known FOREVER! I dont expect a man to jump in and hit a girl but all we needed was someone to hold them back. NOT ONE PERSON helped us. Nice huh?
My mom was taken to the hospital..thank god she is fine..just very sore. My sister and I are hurting today but nothing too major. We are scared of retribution..they kept screaming we know where you live. We didnt do anything wrong!!! I told my mom, from now on, let them get raped..they arent her daughters, who cares?? You wanna be drugged out and naked, thats your choice.
And another thing..I will NEVER jump in to help anyone again. People proved what they were yesterday. I just cant believe they would beat a 60 year old woman in the face. It was an awful experience and I am still shaken up. Its really a sad, sad world.

Glad to hear your OK, for the most part anyway.
What happened once the cops arrived?
I guess the girls were long gone by than?
Please don't let this sway the way you would help someone in need.

OMG> This is crazy. I am so sorry this happened to your family. I can't believe it took the cops 40 mins. This is one of the reasons I don't want our village to get rid of our police department.

OMG, I am so sorry you had to go through this. Thank goodness they did not have weapons to make it even worse. I am sorry about your mom, that must have been hard to witness, but glad you are all okay and healing.
I am disappointed by people daily. It is actually SHOCKING when someone does a kind act these days...SAD. I am sorry noone jumped in to help you.

Thats scarey! Did you fill out a report with the police.. that way if they do come back they can get arrested and jail time.

Horrifying! Were they arrested or did they get away before the cops showed?
I assume by your SN that you live in the city?
If so- this is why the city needs to pay their cops more- 40 minutes is unacceptable in an emergency- but unfortuneatly it happens all the time- because there are not enough cops. And we all know the reason.
It's actually getting scary.

That is insane.
I don't knw what I would have done if I saw some girl hit my mohter.
Maybe hog-tie them and wait for the cops, or give them my own brand of punishment....
Sorry you had to go through with that, and your neighbors suk!!!! I would have given them all a piece of my mind!

OMGOSH!!!! That sounds so scary! I'm so glad you are all OK. I'm sickened that your neighbors stood around and watched while this all was happening. 
It sounds like they were strung out on meth. I'm reading a book right (Beautiful Boy) now about father's experience with his son's addiction to meth... there was a ton of scary information in there and the one thing that most experts stressed was to never approach someone you suspect is high on drugs... you almost have to treat them like a rabid dog or something.
Like I said, I'm so glad you're all OK and that you DC was inside safe and sound asleep.

Since they were so out of it, they couldnt get far, even in the 40 minutes. Actually, they didnt even leave the front of the house for a LONG TIME!
The cops got them a block away..they started running. My sister and I id'ed them and they were arrested.
We decided not to press charges, only because we dont want to go through all the c rap of it. We are also scared of what they will do if we keep it up. We havent heard from anyone yet so we arent even sure what happened.
ETA..We are in Queens. I grew up here. So sad how the neighborhood has changed over the years. A bunch of hotels are going up over here, we are right over the 59th st bridge..so we dont even know if they came from there. They may not even be from around here. But the neighbor thing..UNREAL!! Again, I didnt expect anyone to jump in and get hurt but grown men could have helped and held them back at least. I am just still in shock.

OMG, I'm so sorry that happened! What horrible girls. You were only trying to help. And your neighbors! Shame on them! I'm sure if a group of people came up to them they would run away. No force would be needed. Just strength in numbers.

OMG....your poor mother! I hope she recovers quickly. People are unbelievable. It doesnt surprise me noone else jumped in to help you guys...people can be so horrible

Thank god you guys were home, who knows what would've happened to your mom if you weren't there
This is not the first time I hear or a fight like this happen (remember the woman in the mall parking lot getting robbed) and people just standing around watching....it doesn't help to know that you can get raped, robbed or killed in broad daylight and no one (for the most part) would even try to help

That is terrible! I'm so sorry. Drugs make people do terrible things.
As far as the cops taking 40 minutes to get there, that is unacceptable. You need to right a letter to the precint or comissioner or something. If the are so busy that it takes them that long they are having a staffing issue and need to hire more people. Especially for a violent act!!!!

They received 21 911 calls about this incident. Between neighbors calling and when we finally got inside, we called. I actually got into a fight with the operator the last time I called because she said Maam we have received many calls about this already!
Are you kidding me?? Then get here! And the odd thing is, once one car got here, 5 more showed up at the same time. I am all for cops, I come from a family of police officers but this was just ridiculous. If they would have gotten here faster, the actual fight would have been broken up much sooner. If SOMEONE would have chosen to help us, it would have ended sooner too. Unreal!
