you're only wrong in the sense that you waited till the last minute to back out, in which case, they lose money on a dinner.

But, if you cover it in your gift, you're fine

UPDATE: My grandparents will be going in my place. I WILL be giving them a generous check still, and they won't be losing $$$ on our account. I already apologized up and down to her, and she seemed okay. I mean really. We're not close and she's not going to lose sleep over this. I will be going to the ceremony that day, so at least I will get to experience the MOST IMPORTANT part of her day.

Seriously though, I'm SO glad I asked you guys to be brutally honest!!! Good thing I have a thick skin, otherwise I'd be CRYING from the honesty on this thread.

One thing's for sure: I can always count on you guys for opinions!!!!
