Schedule question for SAHMs

I'm all out of sorts now since Abby seems to be switching her naps etc. right now. She used to take an 10:30 or 11am nap, but she's still awake now!

1. What time do you eat lunch?

2. When do you go out--whether it be to run errands or do "fun stuff" like play outside or the park?

We used to eat lunch around 12:30, give Abby her bottle and then go out around 2 and be back for 3:30 and the 2nd nap/Kate's nap. Now, I don't know what the hell's going on! Chat Icon

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

I am in the same exact boat. Jack always napped from 10-12. It looks to me like that nap is gone. This morning he fell asleep from 9-10 -- we went running around then and just got back.

I am hoping he falls asleep at 2 - but I just have no idea.

If he doesnt' nap in the am - and is really cranky then unfortunately I won't go out. If he's ok - then I'll do what I need to do.

I need him to get back onto some sort of napping schedule bc I need to know how to plan my days.

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

I have a 22 month old and 8 month old.

I just switched my 8 months nap times.

Both up by 7:30am
Both down for Nap at 11:30am
They are just waking up now usually around 1pm

Lunch at 1-1:30pm

Play! Then the little one goes down for 2nd nap at 3pm.

So we either go out before 1st nap, or before the 8 month olds 2nd nap.

i have no car during the week, so usually it's just outside or playtime with mommyChat Icon

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

Good questions! Lily's naps seem to change so often, it's tricky trying to plan anything. Most of the time she has lunch on the late side when she wakes up after her morning/early afternoon nap - around 1:30-2. But this week she was napping earlier so she was having lunch earlier. We try to get out after that (by 3:00). But, like today, she's waking up now (almost noon central time) so we'll have lunch, then go out sooner. (I hope!) Chat Icon

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

Ds has recently changed from 2 naps to 1, so we've had to adjust. As of now, I can go to the park/for a walk or run errands in the morning. He eats lunch about noon and then goes right down for a nap from anywhere from 1:30-2:30. Then we go be out and about again.

We go out for a walk around 11-1130.
Lunch at 12.
Naptime 12:30 or so..I *thought * he was asleep, but he's STILL awake.
Im debating if I should just go get him.

I try to keep DS and the baby I sit for on the same nap schedule.
Usually he does nap 12:30-2:30 and we will go out to the stores around 3-3:30.
I babysit until about 2:30-2:45, so, I really don't go anywhere until after that.

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

Ryan naps from about 11:30-12:00 to 2:30-3:00. So we go out in the morning and then again after his nap.

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

We get a first nap in at 8 am, so when she wakes from that is when I usually do what I have to. Then we'll eat lunch AROUND 12/12:30 and I try to stretch her to take a 2nd nap about 1/1:30.

SO...I'll either get errands in BEFORE lunch (between 9-12), or AFTER her 2nd nap (around 2 or 3)

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

Noah takes 2 naps a day but they are fairly flexible.

We tend to go out after his morning one....If I need to go out before it, he will usually fall alseep in the car or out where ever we are.

his afternoon nap he will either slpee in the car or when we get home. Im usually home by 3:30 at latest from anywhere.

My Dh gets home at 4:45, so I do anything else after that when he can watch him.

we eat lunch around 11 am. and a snack on the go.

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

Since my son is in preschool until noon, and we go and pick him up, that dictates the schedule more than anything during the week. If we have things to do or want to go to the park, we pick him up at noon and spend about 2-3 hours doing so. We find time for lunch in there somewhere.

My DD is 22 months and if we are out, she does get cranky!! When we are home, she has lunch about 12:30 and is in for a nap by 1-1:30. Like she is now Chat Icon

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

I'm going to include myself as a SAHM here since I'm home with her 5 days a week.

Marron usually naps from 1-2 until 4-5. I usually go out in the morning, before her nap. I have to be home by 4 to get my niece off the bus. Between that and starting dinner, everything for us is done early in the day. We're home by early afternoon, for the day. Sometimes I'll go out in the evening, after dinner if I have to. Once it gets nicer out she'll be able to play outside with her cousins in the late afternoon/early evening.

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

Addison goes down for a nap from 12-2. We do all of our outings in the morning, including her Music Together class. Lunch is at 11:30, and she usually goes down right after that. Sometimes we will go out after 2 when she wakes up, but it's usually just staying in and playing.

same schedule for Alyssa and I....oh, and she doesnt really eat a big lunch because shes napping through typical lunch time...she will have a small something before nap and a small something afterwards. (drinkable yogurt, pretzels, some cut up fruit, no real big lunch)

Re: Schedule question for SAHMs

We're still switching things up around here...just when I think we have a schedule something happens and I have to change it up.

In general though I do one of 2 things..Caden is usually up at 7:30 and has a bottle. Then in about an hour I will give him breakfast..at that point, if I HAVE to get something done I will decide to drive the other girls to school which starts at 9:30 and will get myself out and about trying to be home by about 11:30 for his nap.

Or..

I'll wait to give him breakfast until after the girls get on the bus at 9ish and then wait until after his morning nap to run my errands. If Im home I'll put him down for his nap at 11am. He'll sleep until about 12:30 then. I then have 3 hours to run my errands.
