Scheduling Induction Based on the On Call DR

I am several days overdue with #2 and nothing's really happening, so we're scheduling an induction. My choices are Friday with my least favorite DR in the practice, or Monday with a different DR in the practice....

I'm not in a rush, but baby is measuring much bigger than #1 and I'm uncomfortably huge and pregnant and so done. Would you delay your delivery 3 days for a different DR?

Assuming I don't go into labor naturally Friday and have the DR I don't like anyway... Chat Icon

Ugh. I don't know what to do.

If you think you can, then wait until monday- you'll feel more comfortable delivering with the dr. you like

I'd absolutely wait. I sat in limbo for 2 weeks on a c-section date because originally the only OB they could give me was that one I hated.

I'm feeling the same way. Due date is still 6 days away, but omg I'm so heavy and uncomfortable and AM feeling anxious for him to GET OUT!! lmao. So I get what you're feeling. If it were me, I'd want it done on Friday so that DH could have that whole weekend with me before starting any time off work. My OB is scheduling me for an induction on Monday, but I would love to be given the option of Friday instead. HOWEVER, I also really do understand just being uncomfortable with certain doctors. I LOVE my OB so I would be kind of distraught if she said she couldn't be there with me on the day of induction. I don't know your situation with this doctor vs the other one you'd see on Monday, but I think if you don't mind waiting the extra days then go with whatever makes you feel more comfortable.

There are 2 OBs in my practice. One I love and one that put me in tears when I was in labor with my DD. If I was given the option I would wait and have the doctor I like deliver me, but that's bc not only do I not like the other OB but I also had a bad experience with him when in labor.

I would wait for the doctor you like, if you don't happen to go into labor before then. Good luck!

Well it looks like I don't have much of a choice after all...the office tried scheduling the induction for Thurs or even Fri and the hospital said not before I am 41 weeks. So Monday it is...

The hospital can just go against your OB's orders?? Mine has already scheduled me for Monday and that's one day before my due date. Chat Icon I'm just supposed to call in an hour before though to make sure there's room for me since it's not an emergency.

Either way, it seems Monday was probably the better option for you so that you can get the doctor you like.

I was surprised by that too, esp since I know someone else who is getting induced a week before her due date. Chat Icon But yeah it will hopefully work out for the best this way.

It's better you wait until Monday. I was 10 days late when I finally went into Labor. That is when she was ready. They will not let you go past 42 weeks, so just ride it out a little longer as long as you and baby are healthy

I was scheduled for
Induction on a Monday and went into labor the sat before. You may go into labor. But I'd wait to try and avoid the dr you don't like
