scheduling naps for an 8 week old?

DD1 had all kinds of napping/sleeping issues that were probably preventable. I'd like to avoid these problems w DD2 if possible. She's 8 weeks old. Should I have a nap routine in place at this point? A set bedtime? I don't expect her to sttn for awhile, but is a daytime asleep routine even possible with a baby this young?

At 8 weeks I would not try to schedule naps. I think it's way too early to force a schedule. I would let them set their schedule.

I started eat, play, sleep with DD around that age. Worked great to give some predictability to the day even though the times varied. Also got her going to sleep on her own without being rocked or nursed to sleep (although some of her naps were in the swing at that point).

I worked under the impression they shouldn't be awake for more than 1.5-2 hrs at a time but no set schedule.

I paid attention to wake times at that age, but no schedule per se. My DD was like 5 months before she could go any longer than an hour without getting grumpy

There was no rhyme or reason at 8 weeks. My girls pretty much ate, sleep, repeat up till 10 weeks old. Now I feed them pretty much every 4 hrs, they play for a bit then sleep. Wake before eating and get changed and play for a bit more.

Ok, that's more or less what I've been doing. TY!
