Truly a great day! I'm so happy for these kids.
It was so nice seeing all of the smiling faces on FB this morning. My kids have to wait until Monday for whatever reason even though they dropped mask wearing on the bus already. So dumbq
People actually took pictures of their kids at the bus stop? I ask because I didn't see 1 picture on my social media.
I took a pic on Tuesday and posted it to document the last day with masks! The end of an era... hopefully.
I didn't take pics myself but I've seen a ton. DS 2 asked me this morning before school if it was still no masks. It's like he doesn't believe it (his teacher said that it will switch back and forth and he took it to mean from day to day, not from outbreak to outbreak lol)
Hopefully this will be it and not from outbreak to outbreak. This is never going to end so it needs to be optional with a STRONG message to stay home if you are sick.

Right? Can you imagine having to deal with this nonsense every cold and flu season? No thank you.

Re: School Mask Mandate Lifted
I will probably hold on to a few masks but at this point if they are required somewhere I think that they should be provided by whomever is requiring them. It's not normal to have to walk around with spare masks for me and my children on the off chance they need one. And I think they need to let go of the transportation mandates at this point.

I agree as well.
Isn't the transportation set to end this month as of now or was it extended?

Not sure but it would be really nice to not have to fly with a mask on.

I think so... My friend works in a hospital (non patient facing) and they were told masks aren't going away anytime soon.

I'm pretty sure it's set to expire March 18th. As far as I know, they haven't extended it yet.
It is very, very silly that an Uber driver and passenger both have to wear masks if they don't want to in the Uber driver's personal vehicle.

I ride public transportation alot. Not everyone wears one and that was before this month. Bus driver or train conductor can care less which they shouldn't.
It should just be optional across the board

In NJ they make you wear a mask when you get on. At least the ones going into Port Authority.

I also know people who bring a big shareable size bag of M&M's on flights and keep their hand in the bag and when a flight attendant walks by, they are "eating" LOL Sounds like something I would do.

I was in the city yesterday and like 90% of the people on the NYC subway had masks on.

On my way home, I felt weird on the E train so put my mask on. I felt like an odd ball. I needed it for the bus anyway.
But in my office, no masks at all and every one hugging each other to say hi. So different once I was inside the building. LOL.

LIRR I see a handful wear them, conductor can care less, Bus you get a couple people who sit down and take it off , bus driver can care less. NYC subway is where I see most masks on however some do not wear them and again unless it’s a real rule follower, no one cares either.

No one cared about the people who weren’t wearing or didn’t say anything. But majority were wearing masks on the NYC subways, so I wanted to clarify. In my packed cart coming home maybe 4 people weren’t wearing a mask. That is still a large a amount who are still wearing it. And Nj transit is still a requirement and the bus driver will say something. Seems to be a big difference from LI to NYC transit.
