Sadly, definitely not. This is as political as the fireworks in July 2021 and I would expect the same firestorm to ensue after. As for the kids - there was this just today: NYC Officials Call For Student Vax Mandate in September and seeing how this comes less than a week after all the data, news, research and Pfizer themselves saying the shot doesn’t even work at all for kids, I think it’s pretty clear all common sense has gone out the window. My kids still can’t perform in Carnegie hall with their peers because they aren’t triple vaxxed with a vaccine that doesn’t work. Kids 4 and under still have to mask again because there is no Vaccine for them (even though the one there is doesn’t work anyway as per the SCIENCE. Then there is the fact that you CANNOT work in NYC without being vaccinated so millions have and will continue to be forced to take an outdated vaccine that doesn’t even work just to be able to earn a living and not be fired. So no, it’s not over. In fact, it’s becoming more of a doomsday in NY by the second. This is all part of their political game and everyone is buying into it. Hopefully there is no spike in cases with the masks off because that will be all the ammo they will need to justify a September vaccine mandate for the whole state.

I’m really trying to stay positive that with the new data showing the vaccine isn’t even effective in kids that they won’t mandate it.
As far as the politics, I was hoping since it’s an election year the mandate talk would go away.

NYC is complete and utter insanity.
The fact they are mad that people aren't flocking back to their offices. Jeez - I'm not rushing back to my office 5x a week and it's 5 minutes away! I worked in NYC for a long time, at this point after 2 years being home, I can't imagine commuting again... Vaccine mandate aside.
And masking kids under 5 still?? With Covid rates so low? What science are they following? And that announcement today that they are pushing for mandatory vaccinations to return to school, for something that is still EUA and has a much lower efficacy rate than claimed?
ETA - I am glad the rest of the state has often times during the pandemic gone in a different direction than NYC - I hope it stays this way.

I would gladly go back to an office because IMO working from home is utter shit- but I will NOT get a vaccine that doesn't work to do so. They aren't making it easy to go back to the office if they are forcing you to get vaccinated to do so. Drop that and you'll see me back in a heartbeat

I do think the NYC rules are over the top but, I also think many don't want to do that long commute anymore - and I know a lot of employers aren't pushing people as they are just as/more productive at home.
I agree, although I like working at home most days, I do like working in the office as well occasionally.

I know I'm in the minority Most people would be glad to work at home forever. But I don't have the discipline to get dressed, showered etc every day if I don't' have to go to work. So I end up sitting home, especially in winter, not leaving the house for a week at a time, not getting dressed and falling into a depression. I'm not good without being forced to be somewhere.

No it’s not just you. I actually just left a fully remote position for a hybrid one. I admit I did have a rough few weeks back and I do wish I was in the office one day a week less (I have a long commute-driving, not train) but overall I feel more human now.

I love the hybrid as I can get up later when home and get things done in the house. Then I like getting out and just working and not being available all the time. I always get dressed though at home, nothing fancy though so just a little less than at work.
