Schools for Emotionally Disturbed High School Students
My daughter is 15. She is classified as ED. This year she was sent to a special school The Summit School in Queens. Her issue is anxiety but the school is more geared for kids on the spectrum. We are trying to evaluate a school for next year.
Does anyone have any comments on the Iris Wolfson school (Greenvale) or the Village School (great Neck)????
She is very anxious and OCD personality/perfectionist. School refusal and shaking is the mental issues. she also has a chronic pain issue.
Any input is greatly appreciated!!!!

There's a fb group called Long Island Special Education Parent Network. You would probably get lots of feedback there.

Iris Wolfson is a wonderful academic and therapeutic environment. Ask for a tour and screening....I think your daughter would be very well cared for there.. I'm a parent of a special needs child and also a Special Education teacher for Nassau BOCES.....
