Science 5th grade
Should I start teaching the Scientific Method first before I teach the lessons in the text book, or should I jump right into the text lessons?
Sorry for all the questions. Just want to do the right thing and all of you are great to learn from!!

i always started with the scientific method. my dsitrcit doesn't use textbooks, so after that we went right into these box kits (I hate them!) from BOCES! doing the scienitific method first before they start doing experiments is helpful.

Although I do not teach 5th grade, as a science teacher I recommend teaching the scientific method first. It's the basis for all other science instruction.
