Screaming in the middle of the night?
DD is 8 months old. she loves her binky anytime she sees it. if she sees it, she'll put it in, but if it's not around she couldn't be bothered. (hope that makes sense).
I am trying to wean her from the binky when I can (I now only give it to her when she's really fussy). At night, she goes down NO problem without it, but wakes up in the middle of the night screaming. Only the binky gets her back to sleep-- it's almost instant. Any tips? I do not want a kid that won't sleep through the night without her binky.
She has been sleeping 9 hours + since she was 3 months old, but up until recently, i always put her to bed with binky because i thought it was the right thing to do because of SIDS.
thoughts? advice?

Re: Screaming in the middle of the night?
sorry i won't be of much help b/c my DD used they binky forever and DS who is also 8 months still uses it. mostly only in the crib though. i have no plans to wean him of it soon as i know one day he won't need/want it. but i keep like 8 of them in his crib and i think that helps him sleep so well at night. i don't see the harm of letting her have the binky for a few more months if she still wants and needs it to stay asleep. good luck!

Re: Screaming in the middle of the night?
Karen is this a new thing..the waking up in the middle of the night? I was thinking maybe it's not the binky she wants. Maybe it's teething and she could do with some tylenol or something instead of the binky? or just put like 10 binkys in the crib and she'll find one when she wants it!
