Re: Season 2 of The Affair
I'm reading comments on the FB page and there are so many different theories people have... One is that Max killed Scotty b/c he wanted to frame Noah... Another is that the "earth shattering" news that Scotty had was that Gabriel was his baby so that would make Cole want to kill him. I don't know where this is headed but I want to find out!

I wish we found out more about the FUTURE in this episode. Other than Noahs friend (or no longer friend) testifying against him in court. I still think Noah is covering for Allison (or someone else)

The earth shattering news was definitely that the baby is Cole's.
Am I the only one that doesn't like Cole's girlfriend/wife?

Why is Helen helping Noah? I keep wondering about her role. This is why I initially suspected it was Whitney and that Nosh/Helen were covering for her. This past week opened up so many possibilities.... Cole, Alison, Luisa now... I can't wait to find out!!!

Season 2 of The Affair
Maybe it was actually Noahs friend, the one who is in love with Helen. He proclaimed how jealous he is of Noah and how Noah gets away with everything. Maybe he did it, and is framing Noah and Helen knows so is helping Noah.

The writing is so good on this show -- you can literally suspect every single person for some GOOD reason or another.

Re: Season 2 of The Affair
Allison has the strongest motive – both personal/emotional (wanting to keep him quiet about Joanie’s paternity) and economic (wanting to keep him out of their business deal.)
If she killed Scotty, it would explain:
-Her guilty and nervous looking demeanor in the post arrest scenes, including in the finale of Season 1 as Noah was being led away and she said “I will get you out of this” or something like that. She knows he’s not guilty and intends to work to reveal that but without incriminating herself.
-Max’s testimony (which I believe.) Noah is egotistical enough to believe Max would cover for him, so he uses his hose to clean off the car, used by Allison to kill Scotty.
-Oscar’s allegations. His feelings towards Allison are what I would describe as “hating what you can’t have” plus there is no love lost for any Lockhart. It’s easy to see why he’d want to take them both down.
-Helen’s heavy handedness. I have mixed feelings on this, but she has been the moral compass of the show, and I can believe that if she really thinks Noah is innocent, she would fight to keep him out of jail. However, I do struggle with this a little, as it is a bit of a stretch for me to believe that she would mortgage her house just for this purpose. Her store does not make a profit and she seems to have been cut off from her parents. If it weren’t for hot Dr. Ullah, I might believe she was pining for Noah, but I don’t believe that is the case any longer.
It would NOT explain:
-the logistics of the car. We know they left separately, so Allison would have had to take the car, kill Scotty, and come back with the bloody car, which Noah would have then driven away. This seems possible but not likely. She would be more likely to keep driving, I would think. Even if it did happen that way, I find it funny that no one saw Allison arrive back at the wedding with a bloody, dented car.
-Why Noah seems almost resigned to his fate – I can’t see him covering for Allison. Unless he is just so egotistical as to be sure that she and Helen will help him get off somehow.
I suppose Whitney still had a motive, although it seems weak at this point. She appears to have moved on with her life although she is still very angry at her dad.
If she did it, it would explain:
-Why Noah seems almost resigned to his fate – he is covering for his daughter, which he is accepting as necessary to make amends for what he did
-the logistics of the car. We would have to assume that she showed up at the wedding (a bit of a stretch for me because it would be her third sojourn, but ok) and Noah left to take her home, allowing her to drive for some reason. Allison got home some other way, which we already know to be true.
-Max’s testimony – again, he’s telling the truth.
It would NOT explain:
-Helen’s heavy handedness. If she was protecting her daughter, she would WANT Noah to go down for the crime.
-Allison’s demeanor, but I think this can be explained by her nervousness over Joanie’s paternity being revealed. (I was resistant to Cole being the father for a while but I cannot disregard the recent clues.)
Anyone want to add to this or offer other analyses?

I just have a feeling that them making Allison the killer is too obvious. This show is all about mystery, twists, and turns. It is going to be someone we didn't expect, someone not so obvious. Allison is obvious.
I also think Noah may get convicted and next season will be Allsion revealing Cole as the father, maybe even trying to get back with him and interfering in his new marriage. Then Noah getting released and it turning into a whole issue. Cole promised his fiancé he would never go back to Allison, when he did that, I said, Ok something is going to happen with that. Especially since they are business partners now.

Re: Season 2 of The Affair
They are definitely hinting that the baby is Cole's--but who knows with this show. I hope it's his. I really don't think it's Scotty's. As for the murder, I don't think Noah did it, but not sure who...Alison maybe or is that too obvious? I remember Noah told his lawyer that he hit a deer. Could that be the blood Max saw him washing off his car or was the deer story just another Noah Solloway lie, to cover for someone I guess?

Season 2 of The Affair
finale was awesome but I didn't like what he did...
I guess he did it at the end bc if he pins it on Alison then she will spill the beans on Helen so to protect her he has to protect both...

Re: Season 2 of The Affair
I loved the episode and was on the edge of my seat and all but I am bothered by two things:
SPOILERS
Noah standing up and shouting "I'm guilty!" is COMPLETELY out of line with his character. A major underpinning of the show's plotline, especially this season, is Noah's selfishness. To believe that he would then do what is probably the most selfLESS thing a human could do - take a murder rap for someone else - is really hard to swallow.
The Noah we've seen would've let Jeffries take the stand, especially because I'm not sure Alison would've been in danger of prosecution anyway. The only piece of evidence against her is circumstantial - someone could have easily planted the rock there - and the motive is thin because Noah already knew he wasn't Joanie's father (or doubted he was, depending on who you believe.) I am not sure the prosecution could have made a case against her but I'm also not an expert - any criminal lawyers reading?
Also, what the FLUCK was Helen doing at that wedding? To think that she would go to the wedding of the ex husband of the woman her husband left her for as her cut off mother's date three hours from her home is ludicrous. I know they have to stretch it sometimes to accommodate the plot but that's just silly.

They did show him conflicted though about pinning it on Helen or Allison. And I agree, he was really selfish for most of the season but I think he changed A LOT in that year or so after he almost cheated on Allison and saw his DD in the hot tub. There was a noticeable change in his character after those events. He was less self involved, more family oriented, he was more understanding and supportive of what Allison wanted (especially when she got into business with Cole), and he was getting along a lot better with Helen too. I don't think it's out of left field to think he would've thrown himself under the bus to save the women he loved/loves. How could he have chosen?
As for Helen, part of me isn't surprised she would go to the wedding. She has come a long way on the show since their marriage fell apart. Her and Noah had been spending more time together, getting along well, she's been paying all of his legal fees to help get him off, and they did make it clear that even though she was happy with the doctor that she still has feelings for Noah. It was pretty obvious all season she still had a thing for him so I'm sure when her mom asked her to accompany her to the wedding she saw it as an opportunity to see Noah and maybe spend some time with him.
I really LOVED the finale. So, so good...........and I love that we finally know what happened to Scotty and who did it. It was an excellent episode and I am going to have a hard time waiting until Season 3!!!!
