Second opinion

Hi ladies...

Was just wondering what your opinions were. I've had two fresh cycles and one frozen with no luck. At what point should I get another opinion?!? I like my RE, but I'm not having any luck. What can another RE do that my RE didn't?!?

Also, is acupuncture worth the money?? Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks...

Second opinion

I would def do accupuncture and even the circle and bloom program.

I would get a second opinion now being that you have already done two fresh cycles. Maybe a new doctor would see something diff and change the protocol

Second opinion

I saw a new doctor after two failed fresh cycles. My original RE seemed uninterested in changing my protocol so I was uninterested in staying with him.

Re: Second opinion

I hope you don't me asking, but how much do you pay for acupuncture at the wellness center? Am I assuming that insurance doesn't cover it?!?

Re: Second opinion

Acu not only relaxed me but it regulated my hormones and period flow. There is steady research showing acu greatly improving IVF cycles! I say go for it. My acu charges $65 for an hour treatment. Some ins def covers it but not mine-- GHI

It depends on your insurance. Some places I had a copay and others I got a percentage back. Worth a call. I believe it was a big help to me.

Second opinion

I'm so sorry. IF really sucks. If I was you I would definitely get a second opinion. You know I'm in a similar boat- 2 failed IVFs and if this FET doesn't work I already have a second opinion lined up in February. I don't think it will hurt to get a second opinion. See who takes your insurance and who people recommend and then go from there.

Just recently hD second failed IVF went for second opinion and I'm switching drs. I loved my RE and he was willing to change some things but after meeting second dr I knew switching was right for us. I definitely recommend acupuncture. I also am a HUGE any Kaplan fan in RVC. I pay OOP for that but I believe it is worth it if not for anything but to reduce stress. Highly suggest it and after 2 failed IVFs I would have a dr look at your records for a second opinion.

Re: Second opinion

I am definitely going to try acupuncture for my next cycle. I'll call Kaplan in RVC. Anyone have any other places they like?

Also...I go to RS of NY in Mineola. I do like it there, biut just no success. Should I see another doc within the practice or another place all together?!?

Would love everyone's input! Thanks...

I am a RS patient with 3 failed FET in the past 5 months. I am going to LIIVF for a second opinion in two weeks. I agree about the fresh set of eyes....it's what I told DH. I like the people at RS but three failures is enough for me to go look elsewhere.

ETA: I go to Dr. Li for acupuncture. He is in Huntington and Smithtown. It's covered by my insurance because he's an MD, so I only pay a $20 copay. I haven't had success using it yet, but I think it's because I have other issues that aren't being addressed. It's relaxing and reduces stress, so it's worth it to me to go to acupuncture.

Re: Second opinion

I have set up an appointment with another doc within my practice for next week. However, i think i want a second opinion at another place. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking LI IVF or Dr. Braverman. Thoughts?!?

How long do you think i would need to wait for a consult? Also, would i need to bring my blood work to that appointment?
