Second thoughts about RE
I know no one can tell me what to do but I'm just so torn and having second thoughts.
Now that I found out that Cornell will accept my insurance, I'm tempted to stop my cycle at LI-IVF and go to Cornell. (I'm only on week 2 of bcp's) Of course, that would mean putting things off for a couple of months but that doesn't bother me. I just don't know what to do.
I only have 1 more cycle left with my UHC policy. If this next cycle doesn't work, I still have 2 cycles through my husband's insurance but that's Oxfords Liberty plan (we think) and not accepted by Cornell.
I like LI-IVF but they've had 2 chances. Do I give them one more? Granted we had a nibble with the first try but I had 2 perfect embryos last time and nada. I mean, I know the chances and I know not every perfect cycle results in a baby but it just has me thinking.
Thanks for listening.

Re: Second thoughts about RE
If you aren't happy...switch. You seem to be aware of the pitfalls and are comfortable with them so I don't think you are going to have any second guessing of your decision.
Whatever you decide - good luck to you!

Re: Second thoughts about RE
you have to be comfortable, if you go into the 3rd try with hesitation, you will never have peace if you don't get a BFP. I agree with Gerty, you seem to be aware of all of the issues with each choice, it comes down to where you and DH are comfortable and have confidence.
Good luck!

Re: Second thoughts about RE
I would satisfy my curiosity.
You have been thinking about this for a while.
What's the harm in meeting someone at Cornell? Get some advice or another opinion.

Re: Second thoughts about RE
Well you know what I am going to say. I mean you can even tell them you are taking a break until the New Year and go back to LI IVF under your ins later (even though you won't need that b/c you are getting pg your next cycle).

Re: Second thoughts about RE
I had the same concerns this past cycle.. i actually switched started BCP then when i had to start stimming I asked them why they werent treating me for my N/K cells and Bloodclotting issues.. NYU doesnt believe they have anything to do w/my 2 m/c's.. They actually sent me to my original DR to get treated then they would do my transfer?? i freaked went back to my original and did my third w/them..
The reason I am posting this is to really ask you if you have any issues make sure where ever you go they treat you..
Its very contraversial but I do have them and I want them treated.. and its funny that no IVF ever worked for me until this time when I am on on the treatments.. Hope this helps

Re: Second thoughts about RE
I switched but I did it early on. Had the bloodwork done and was about to start the provera when I decided that I just couldn't see them anymore and I called another doctor for an appointment. Go with your gut! My only regret is that I didn't call my current doctor first.

Re: Second thoughts about RE
After my 2nd failed cycle, I just thought that perhaps Cornell with their co-culture could help me. Since prior RE could not offer that to me. Even though 3rd time didn't work, my embryo never looked so good and it had no fragmentation. And looking back I'm glad I switched.

Re: Second thoughts about RE
I don't think it ever hurts to consult with someone else. I went to Cornell, RMA and East Coast last summer while on a break. They all said the same thing, that they really wouldn't have done or would do anything differently from Kenigsberg. One offered up an idea regarding making the transfers easier. When I brought it up to Dr. K, he said he would do it. Since I like him, I decided to stay with him.

That's what I figure. If Cornell says they wouldn't change a thing, I'll stay where I am. I just need to put my mind at ease.
I'm trying to get an appointment with the doctor on Nov 5th (a little birdie told me he had open appts that day). If I can, it's before my stim start date at LI-IVF so that would be perfect. If they wouldn't do anything different, I am still in on the cycle at LI-IVF.
