Secretly pooping in the corner? potty training experts, come in!
A recent trend has developed where DS (newly 3) will disappear into a corner, or anywhere to another room far from people, in order to do his business.
This is new. He isn't ready to go on the potty yet (I've asked and I can tell he's not ready yet)
is this a good sign though? or just normal behavior?

Both my niece and nephew isolated themselves to poop around that age. So I believe it's very normal. Sounds like if you can catch on, you may be able to get him into the potty instead of the corner to do his business! I remember my nephew was pooping on the potty way before he started peeing on the potty for this exact reason. Good luck!

DD is 2 and has been doing this for months now. Her spot is the corner where she can look out the window. Another tell tale sign that DD is pooping is if she's talking way too much.

ds used to hide behind a chair in the corner to poop. It was about 6 months before he was ready to poop on the potty due to fear. We didn't push just pretty much waited until he was ready. He hit 3 and then it just took the promise of a new toy he wanted. He has been potty trained since. Ds had a fear of the big potty. We got him a little potty to try on. Between that and the new Cars toy he wanted he caught on real quick.

It's normal. It's actually a "good" thing. That means they are aware of poop. So now, just try to catch it to put on potty.

ITA.
I would do it sooner rather than later. I kid you not when I tell you my friend's son used to cry to her at parties that he needed to go to the "closet" at their house. That was his "place." & he would hold it in until he was there.
