self cleaning oven question
before we move in, maid bragaide is coming to clean tomorrow : )
the guy said to turn the oven on to self clean for a few hours so when it cools they can wipe it down.
Does anyone know how long i leave it on? We're not in the house yet so I'm just going to go there tonight to turn it on but I don't know how long I'll have to stay. Also, is it useless to do it tonight since they are coming tomorrow ? I don't know about these things yet

Good question because I have been in my house for almost 2-years and hit the self clean button once before I went to bed one night and got so nervous I turned it off. It said on the timer like 4 hours and it smells horrible, I would rather scrub it myself.
I did not know if it was ok to leave it un-supervised also

my oven sets to 3-4 hours self-cleaning depending on what I choose (med-3hrs, hi-4hrs)
It shuts itself off after that time - yours probably has similar settings as well.
Not useless to do tonight. It will create some powdery ash in the oven, so they'll just wipe it out tomorrow.
