Semi perm color not getting any lighter...
I covered up highlights that had grown out/gotten brassy at a salon. Right away, I KNEW it was too dark and NOT at all my real base color but I didn't open my darn mouth. It's been a month, the old highlights are bleeding through reddish, but the actual color is still very dark, very chocolate, and it makes me look so blah. What should I do? I made an appt with a new colorist upon rec of a friend to see if I should be patient and keep it, or break up the color with some highlights. Really do not want to strip the hair. I don't know if it's the fact that I have a new baby or what, but I feel so aged with my hair like this. Trying to attach a pic. (was not smiling ... lol....it was totally candid but i just want to show the color. sonya, however, looks fab) I don't look like this kid's momma with my hair like this! Real hair is brown. Med brown, I'd say. Image Attachment(s):

This always happens to me, I want to get rid of my highlights and so I dye my hair back to brown and i hate it, it washes me out. I usually just go back and do a partial foil. It lightens up the hair and brightens my face and eyes I think.

I like it but I am partial to dark brown hair. You will always looks like her Mama b/c you both have those gorgeous eyes!
Maybe just do a few thin, face framing highlights? That might help brighten things up for you.

Thankfully I'm not the only one! Every year, I probably highlight and cover and regret EACH. LOL. Ah, to be a woman!
