Serendipity Closed... Dept. of health.
I have never eaten there but they had 41 health code violations last month

Maybe they should have taken the money it cost to buy the ingredients and put it into their restaurant?

Notices posted outside Serendipity 3 at 225 East 60 Street alerted patrons of the closure. It was not immediately known why the small, popular eatery was closed.
Eyewiteness News is told an inspection conducted on Oct. 22, the health department issued 41 violation points. The violations were for evidence of flying insects, roaches and mice, as well as faulty pluming and the facility not vermin proof, according to the health department's web site.
That number of violations would have required a follow up inspection.
The restaurant recently unveiled what it billed as the most expensive dessert ever, the "Frozen Haute Chocolate" -- made with rare cocoas, infused with five grams of 23-carat edible gold and shavings of a luxury truffle. It is offered at the eatery for $25,000.

I'm glad. They were incredibly rude to us. I walked out after waiting for 1 hour just to have them tell me I couldn't have my 3 month old in a carseat in there. "Owner's rules" they said.

We tried going there a few years back, but there was a 3 hr wait. I'm a fan of the John Cusak film.
Williams Sonoma sold Frozen Hot Chocolate Mix for a while. DH and I loved it.

Good riddance - It's an overrated, overpriced tourist trap ....... -
I lived close by and went once b/c family visiting from out of state begged me to take them ........Ok so I wait on line for 2 hours to pay $100 for ice cream in an overcrowded, unimpressive teeny tiny hole in the wall ?? -
I'm the last to complain about NYC prices b/c I just LOVE everything about NYC - but that place was ridiculous -
