Series Rec
I've been home sick for the last 2+ months from work so I have a lot of time on my hands but not much energy.
I've been zipping through books like it's my job and I need something new, preferably a series. (I can't take tv anymore, but any netflix recs are recommended if you happen upon this post).
Anyway I usually prefor horror stories. I've read almost everything by Stephen King.
In the last week however, I read both of The Walking Dead compendiums, as well as the Mortal Instruments series, and re-read the Hunger Games.
I tried reading the fire and ice series but just can't get into it.
any recommendations and you'll make me a very happy girl

Re: Series Rec
-Divergent by Veronica Roth (First in a dystopian trilogy; the second book is available now.) --Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson (First in the Millenium Series.) -The Passage by Justin Cronin (First in a dystopian trilogy. Looooooong book, just finished it, but got really good towards the end.) -Any of the Gillian Flynn books. -The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro/Chuck Hogan- (First of a vampire trilogy.) -Hollowland by Amanda Hocking (First in a zombie series, second book available.) -World War Z (Haven't read it but my DH just started it and likes it so far, plus the movie looks amazing.) -Uglies by Scott Westerfeld (First in a dystopian series, all 4 books available.) -Vampire Academy (First in a vampire series, all books available.)
As far as TV shows, my faves are Doctor Who, Supernatural, Sherlock, Fringe, Alphas, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Vampire Diaries.
Clearly, I'm a very big nerd.

Re: Series Rec
Divergent Trilogy- Veronica Roth Delirium Trilogy- Lauren Oliver
The Stephanie Plum Series (One for the Money, Two for the Dough, etc.- there are 19) <--these are kind of silly, quick reads- but entertaining.
As for netflix- I enjoy watching Documentaries on there

Hey I love your nerdy-ness.
I've read a lot of those, but you gave me a lot of new suggestions so thank you so much! I'm excited to check some of those out.
As far as the tv shows. I've never heard of Alphas and have never watched Doctor Who. I'll check those out too. Everything else I've seen (I guess I'm a big nerd too lol)

Thank you!
Yeah I've watched a bunch of the documentaries. I watched one on pit bulls last night that brought me to tears.

Doctor Who is the nerdiest of the nerdy. I'll say this: it's not for everyone. It's cheesey in the extreme, but I don't know, that's part of it's charm.
Alphas is pretty good! I think it's only in it's second season so only the first is available on Netflix but it's a good show. If you're a fan of the show Heroes, you'll love it!
