Seriously, what the heck is with Gymboree's dress sizing
I've ranted a lot on here that DD swims in Gymboree dresses. She is 15.5 months and wears a size 12-18 in everything. Gymboree dresses SWIM on her, they're huge.
So I ordered the cute knit dress with the puppies on it that I posted last week, it came today--- I haven't tried it on her, but just holding it up to her, it looks like it would *just* fit her now, and I wanted it to fit thru Christmas , it's on the small side.
What the heck??? Is it because it's a sweater dress? I mean, I have sweaters from there and they fit properly.
UGH!!

I agree. A few weeks ago I had gotten the watermelon sundress in hopes that she could wear it for a little longer down here but it's enormous.

Re: Seriously, what the heck is with Gymboree's dress sizing
Honestly, I can't figure them out. I got Marron the brown sweater jumper with the polka dots on it. I got it in 18-24 months and in it enormous on her!! I mean it looks ridiculous. I also bought her the pink sweater dress with the different colors around the collar and that one is too friggin short! I am at the point now where I am not buying her anything without trying it on her.
As for your issue, you should be able to bring that dress into the store and exchange it for another size. I'd bring her with you and try the other size on her though, because the next size up just might be too big for her.

Re: Seriously, what the heck is with Gymboree's dress sizing
I have the same problem with gymboree clothing. I personally hate their clothes. They're overpriced and they really aren't THAT cute. My dd is small for her age and I can never buy the right size dress from Gymboree for her. I bought an Easter dress from them last year and it just fits her now..its a 12-18 and she's almost 2 1/2. ugh...

Re: Seriously, what the heck is with Gymboree's dress sizing
See the dresses my aunt bought here were too long so she never wore them - but they were HUGE so maybe she will be able to wear the next summer.
However I got her Christmas dress from there last year and I have to say it fit her just right and that was a 6-12 month dress and her 3-6 was still big on her.
