Shahs of Sunset
Did anybody watch last night?
It was a surprisingly emotional episode. I felt really bad for them...how they aren't allowed back in Iran and haven't seen their family in years. So sad.

I did! I started crying when Asa's family walked in. I cannot imagine being separated from your family and not being able to say goodbye as you flee your country in the middle of the night to escape.

I cried too!! Such an emotional episode. When Asa's mom and sister first hugged I seriously lost it. I feel so bad for her especially, she never got to say goodbye to her parents when they died, and being seperate do from her sister and family all these years.

Very emotional! I loved the episode and how they connected.
I think mike was being an asshat in the episode though. I mean I understand what he was saying and why he felt that way. But it just seemed to be translating into hate. Why did he even go if he was going to be a miserable Debbie Downer?

I respectfully disagree with that. I'm Jewish and I completely understand what he was saying. He wasn't being racist, a jerk, judgemental...anything. I didn't take it as a hateful way, I genuinely think he was uncomfortable and felt like an outsider.

Because he's on the payroll, so he went Where as they let Lily take a pass b/c they are d one with her.
I can see where Mike is coming from. He looked so anxious! I got the sense that he never really grasped what his parents went through being Jewish in a Muslim country. He was living very comfortably and was accepted as a Jewish male in Beverly Hills. I think it finally hit him and all the stories he heard from his parents finally clicked.
Reza was anxious too, he couldn't wait to GTF out of there either being a gay male.
I just can't imagine having to feel that way.

I said it seemed and obviously he isn't racist since all his closest friend are Muslim. What i picked up was that he has some resentment and as I clearly stated I can see why.
Even before the mosque he was complaining about the trip so why go. I never said he was racist or any of that other stuff.

Yes maybe anxious was better and you explained it better. I guess hate was a strong word. He was just complaining so much and seemed annoyed from the beginning. but you are right I guess he didn't expect it to be so overwhelming and feel so isolated.
Oh and Lilly, what is her purpose. She is so vain and shallow I wish she would go away. Lol

I also heard that Lily legally changed her name. Her birth name is Neelufar (or something similar to that). She is such a bore and definitely appears to have very low self esteem

Shahs of Sunset
I thought last nights episode was really emotional as well. I was so happy for Asa & her mother that they were finally able to reunite with their family. I also felt really bad for them when MJ said it was the first time she felt comfortable being Muslim. I can't imagine what it must be like to leave your country and not be allowed back. I am really looking forward to next weeks episode since they will be going to the Iranian border. I also felt for Mike when he said the prayer was bringing back bad memories for him. i took a class in college on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and it was a huge eye opener to what went on back then with the Jews & Muslims. On another note, Lily's face difference is huge. She def thinks she is above everyone else. I hate to say it, but because she is so materialistic & vein, it is going to be very hard for her to find a man that cares more about her than her money. She better re-evaluate life before it's too late for her. She does want to settle down, she has admitted it numerous times.

I agree. My family comes from a very religious (Muslim-rule) dominated country (Syria) and had to leave b/c they're Christians (more like they were forced out b/c they were persecuted against - similar for Syrian Jews.)
There is no reason for him to walk into a Mosque -- especially if it's something that signifies why his family left their homeland from the beginning. Mike also said that he understands Asa/MJ's connection and how it's emotional, however he did not want to hold them back from going in, but opted not to.

Does any one else think it's bizarre that her "glam squad" is literally her only set of friends? ie: you pay them to be your friends essentially.

Omg, me too. I roll my eyes every time. LOL And she is always pointing out how fat "she thinks" MJ is and talks about how her friends are so awesome and insinuated because they are skinny. (Mike also been doing this too, which is why im getting annoyed with him. I liked him in the other season but now he acts like a douche to me.)
No wonder she is so insecure, she was a fug before and although better looking after, she still fug to me.

I cried too! It was very emotional seeing Asa's family together. I think lily was better looking before. She looks so fake now. Her cosmetic dentistry is hideous. I have no idea why her upper front teeth go up so high toward her gums. Usually much older people have long teeth. She is also the most shallow, boring character I have seen on a bravo show!

ITA, he was trying to be respectful to their emotion of it. Why should he go into a mosque? He's Jewish and feels connected to his religion. If they went to Israel would he force them to go to Temple knowing they were Muslim? No. He's allowed to feel a certain way about where he is visiting.

I never said he had to go into the mosque, please lets clarify that. I also clearly said I understood where he would be coming from.
I still think his attitude was negative or debbie downer overall from the beginning before the Mosque incident. Im going by his facial expressions when they were sightseeing, not just that one scene. My whole point was why bother going. Something about him seems inauthentic this season, like its a show for the cameras or to get a storyline, that's my personal opinion.
And they all have been rejected in someway by their country. Asza & her family, although they are muslim had to flee without saying goodbye to their family and are not allowed to return Iran.
