Shampoo for Keratin Treatment
I'm on the fence about getting a Keratin treatment because I go in the pool and salt water often in the summer, so it will be a sacrifice to not go underwater...but what shampoo and conditioner could I use that isn't super expensive? This girl at work told me Finesse but I don't believe her lol

First, you do not have to skip going under water. I was in the pool less than a week after getting my treatment and it had no negative affects. Loreal's line of sulfate free shampoos and conditioners are really good. You only need to use sulfate free shampoo.

Re: Shampoo for Keratin Treatment
Salt will break down keratin ... so read ingredients and avoid anything with sodium in name
I would say ocean water is a big nono, pool might be okay
Sulfates are just bad in general for your hair, but they won't destroy keratin that bad. Almost anything you'll do will break it down, but salt is the worst.

Re: Shampoo for Keratin Treatment
when I got my keratin done my hairdresser told me not to go in water because she had people who went in the ocean and pools and the treatment came right out.
i went in both the ocean and pools not long after getting it done and my hair was fine. she did tell me that as soon as you get out of the water to pour clean water on your hair to rinse out the salt and/or chemicals. that should help!
i also use the original keratin shampoo and conditioner. they sell it at harmon drugs, which means you can use bed, bath and beyond coupons on them! and they are sold at ulta, so you should be able to use their coupons too!

Re: Shampoo for Keratin Treatment
Thanks ladies...I think I'll try to Keratin Brand from Harmon first bc about a year ago I tried the EverPure and it made my hair full of static randomly. If I do go under quicky in the pool, I'll definitely rinse right away bc I really want it to last for the majority of the summer. Thanks again
